After seeing a few Commander headlight conversions on XJs and MJs, the idea's starting to appeal to me. They've brought up a few questions, though, and as I don't have access to Commander FSMs or Parts Catalogues, I figured I'd ask here.
It looks like there are two different types of headlamps offered: halogen and HID. What (if any) physical differences are in the headlamp housings and/or reflectors depending on the type of light?
From the sources I'm looking at, the halogen headlamps cost the same regardless of which side of the vehicle they're on. The HID lights, however, are consistently about 20% more expensive for the right-hand side than the left-hand side. Why is this?
Do the headlamp housings also contain the HID ballasts, etc. or are those separate?
Are the HID lights bi-xenon?
Appreciate any clarification anyone may be able to give - I'm quite a ways off from actually doing this, but figure some window-shopping in the meantime can't hurt.
