I'm going on a short little get away with my girlfriend in COlorado Springs on the 13th through 17th. I would love to go wheeling and meet up with some of you, but time only allows for maybe a short easy trail run just for a quick afternoon. We have many things to see and i'm only "allowed" a brief afternoon. anyway. If anyone could tell me a nice easy to moderate trail around Co springs We have to check out the university. Thanks! Give me a call and I can give you some directions. You picked a bad weekend ...Alot of us will be over in Buena Vista for the first run of the season.

Old Stage road out of the Springs, and the Shelf road out of Cripple Creek are just easy drives. Rampart Range road out of the Springs is also an easy drive. Mt. Herman road is easy, but if there is snow needs 4wd. I think all those roads will show up on MapQuest.

I've got some time these days, except for the 14th. 719-200-6548.

Are you checking out UCCS or Colorado College? I am familiar with both to some small degree.

Shelf Road got washed out last year-dont know if its been rebuilt or not.The alternative would be Phantom Canyon Road.
Give Led a call-He'll get you pointed in the right direction

Thanks to Led, Fred, Planefixer. I drove Rampart Road with the girlfriend today and had a great time. It wasn't the most challenging by anymeans but with the snow from the blizzard there was some spots that had some challenging spots (for a jeep with 30 inch tires) It was great to finally wheel in the Mountains. Again thanks for the advice. Next time i come here I'm gonna look you all up and leave the girlfriend at home. By then I'll have 33's...thanks again!!!!!

Thanks again Guys for the info. We had a great time. Rampart Road in Garden of the Gods Park was perfect for her first 4 wheeling adventure. Hopfully she will embark on more adventures with me.
