colorado paycheck rules???????

so i work at a car lot here in the springs...
our paydays are the 5th and 20th.
i get paid the same every check.
our business does NOT offer direct Deposit
our check are hand written by the owner....



the owner is out of town for personal time, he knew he would be gone months in advance. but due to the lack of him being in town, i dont get paid til he gets back.

am i just SOL in this situation, or is there something stating they need to pay up if its payday? (fwiw i have searched google for colorado DOL forums and rules cant find right question/answer)

we have no HR dept, no employee handbook, nothing....thanks

8-4-103. Payment of wages - pay statement - record retention - tip notification.

(1) All wages or compensation, other than those mentioned in section 8-4-109, earned by any employee in any employment, other than those specified in subsection (3) of this section, shall be due and payable for regular pay periods of no greater duration than one calendar month or thirty
days, whichever is longer, and on regular paydays no later than ten days following the close of each pay period unless the employer and the employee shall mutually agree on any other alternative period of wage or salary payments.

All true, Mike, but what are you going to do - stir up shit and lose your job? Colorado is an at-will employment state, meaning you can be laid off for cause, or not for cause... I'd be sensitive when you bring it up with "the man".
