You've got top love the California equity working in your favor. Nothing like buying a house, having it double in vallue in 4 years, then taking that money to another state and paying cash for a nicer house on more property.

Yup, it's the California dream.....see you guys soon!

I hope you realize you will have to quit wheeling if you move here. It's in the bylaws.

Screw you guys and your artificially-created price increases around here. Making it so the local folks who aren't homeowners are going to have to be renters forever...
Same thing happens here Jim.
Oh well, my house will be worth a few bucks when I get ready to come back to Colorado.

How is it artificial?

You have a supply of gorgeous country that is relatively uncrowded (West Slope, anyway). We have a demand for those conditions.

Your land owners offer property for sale at what they think the market will bear. Scarcity drives prices upward as more people compete for the resource. It's Econ 101......

In fact, I think it's the most natural of human responses.

P.S. While I love your state, I already live in the mountains, near some very good trails, so I won't be moving. Plus, I like to wheel, and as Jon K points out, that is not compatible with the Colorado Chapter charter. ;)

I love Colorado, but I would never move there for this very reason. The wheelers in CO are real nice people, though, when you can get a chance to see them.

This must be part of that new kinder gentler NAXJA I keep hearing about :puke: We wheel atleast once a year sometimes if we ask real nice mama lets us wheel twice but only if nothing broke the first time!!

On the Rubicon....

IF you like the western slope check out ridgeway and montrose. Both are close to telluride and ouray. Awesome areas. Just make sure you bring a fat wallet. If you want alot of opportunities I would stay on the eastern slope. I live in a mountain community called Nederland. 20 minutes or so to boulder where I work but at the end of the day I get to go to one of the nicest mountain communities in the mountains. There is also a ski area there (Eldora) . I really don't think you should rule out being near the front range. Trust me I have lived in Telluride, crested butte,Gunnison, pitkin, back to gunnison, and now Nederland. Gunnison is awesome but be prepared to be very underpaid. Same with Crested butte. Telluride pays well but the cost of living will kill ya. Hope this helps.

OK time for the Nederland haters to chime in.
