Re: The Colorado BS thread

I just had to put this out there........ wtf? I couldn't figure out how it even got there.... too low to have hopped the curb. :dunno:

Re: The Colorado BS thread

C4 corvette wheels and is that a CRX front clip? Looks like an H22 swap too.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Yeah and it's got deck wood in the "bed". I'm pretty sure that's the frame for a hammock re-purposed as a roll bar. At least he doesn't litter - the tore off muffler is back there too. Oh and black velour window curtains.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Those are C4 Vette wheels for sure. Look at the lug pattern and center cap.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

And the reason I say H22 swap is because of the hole in the hood. A regular B/D series motor wouldn't be sticking up that high, but I'm not overly Honda savvy either so I could easily be wrong.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

There was some badass fab that went into that truck...but that whole belly chassis link mount abortion ruins it for me. I get the idea behind it but there is nothing that makes it worth having the belly of your truck hang as low as the bottom of your rear diff....gross.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

He was sowing a 19" belly at full bump. What is wrong with that?

Re: The Colorado BS thread

About every 6 months, I see an absolutely pristine MJ drive into the Bon Shopping Center. They are always driven by guys my age or older(yes, it is possible. :)), and the couple I've talked wouldn't sell them for less than the fountain of youth. Where did I go wrong. :)

It's because of the CRX front clip dingleberry. :dunce:

Meh, I like it.

It's very much done how a lot of buggies are, with the subframe there. That thing will still have far more clearance and travel than even a heavily modified "regular" MJ.

I think that thing is a work of beauty!

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Maybe it is the picture , but in no way does it look like he has gained belly clearance the pic looks like tje all tube work is no higher than mid axle tube...so that would be less belly clearance than any stock xj or mj ...could just be how it looks ?

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Most Ultra4 cars are sitting mid to high 20's in belly clearance and kill it in the desert and rocks.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Meh...my focus right now is th 1st world problem of chosing...coilovers...or struts...and if coilover King or Radflo...King most likely then it comes down to who has best deal DownSouthmotorsports or Filthymotorsports...my suspension is pretty well behaved but the 180lb rate coils are a wee bit soft especially in the rear a good set of coilovers with dual rate hardware should be the step in right direction rather than buying just a set of new springs ...I need to get a quality spring to slip in to get accurate corner sprung weights ...got 7.5 re lift + 1 inch spacer rear front is on falling apart teraflex spacer and 15yr old rustys coils...lol...no idea the lift but lowet than the 8.5 rear I am looking to run about the lift height of the passenget front that has the old sunken coil and no spacer as it crumbled into chunkd I think it is around 6.5 that corner...I got old 44s tread is great rubber is old they will be replaced next season with 42-44..maybe a sticky but wheelbase of 116 and possible 118 rules out small tires of the 40 inch flavor .

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Yeah I'm shooting mid 20's for belly height. Just over top of axle tubes. Any more than that isn't really necessary I don't think.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

The belly could be below the differential housings and still have more belly clearance than a bone stock XJ, it's on 40" tall tires.
