Colorado B/S Thread

Re: The Colorado BS thread

So I'm finally here! Got in yesterday and unloaded the truck. I'm loving it here. Boulder is actually really nice. I see a lot of lifted Jeeps and the scenery is gorgeous. I had a fun 20 hour drive here. My ZJ's aftermarket trans cooler cracked and started leaking. I had to keep topping it off the whole trip lol.

Glad you made it safely! Welcome to Colorado!

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I'm feeling rather raped at the moment ...car part rape that is...I pulled my Dodges's driver hub to change u-joints ,which I can't see how they were that bad and barely seemed bad ,but upon removing the hub I noticed it had a grinding noise ,So I decided to replace it ,which i'm only familliar with EB Atmus pricing on these hubs ,which are $180 for SKF unit bearings ,Well the mark up at the parts stores makes them $300 for the same SKF unit ,But I did not anticipate hub replacement just u-joints , So enter the rape ...lol...you know they are maked up high when the dealer is the same price as
the parts store at 50-60% mark up . Anywho the passenger side seems ok ,So i'll be ordering the hub assembly from Eb Atmus in advance . I could do both sides almost for the cost of at the parts stor ridiculous mark up .

Anyone with newer Dodge may want to remember this B/C unless you put the cheap ones in you will spend $300 for the $180 part .

Napa had a house brand at $210 after tax it may be Timken and orielly's had a house brand at $180 after tax it may be moog SKF I could not find cheap . LOL...But thank you for letting me know I got part raped at $298 for no reason ...lol...you could have just said gee whiz thanks for the heads up ,and laughed quietly , But nope you got to point out I missed the boat on a cheap in town alternative . Anywho it sure is nice not to make noise while turning no matter how expensive it did not need be Now you just be quiet and let me enjoy mt $300 wheel hub assembly .

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I am seriously considering buying a cnc plasma table in the next few months and i wanted to see if there were very many people on here who would be in need of having custom pieces/fab parts cut for your projects? Im too busy to take on side jobs that are full fabrication type jobs but i want to gauge interest in cutting parts for people so i can figure out if its realistic for me to actually buy one or not.

I mainly want it for myself to build bumpers, shock mounts, etc. for my truck and various parts and pieces for my motorcycle, but if i can do jobs for people with the table to help pay for it i will be a lot more likely to buy one sooner then later.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Probably just a 2x4 to start with, but you can index sheets of metal to cut larger pieces if necessary. And if everything goes how I hope then there's no reason I wouldn't expand its size in the future to a 4x4 or 4x8
