Colorado B/S Thread

Re: The Colorado BS thread

No need to bounce limiter with all that when you can crawl it on 35's
..!..:D..!..

Countless trail video of that area and no one is Walking and Crawling with ease on 35s ...lol...I 've seen a few typical near or full bodied rigs on 35s run it and TRAIL PLUG comes to mind as the driver searches for a line he can do without getting hung up on ,so sure it can be run on 35s ,but it's usually a slow painfull day ...trail conditions are harder than a few years ago ,and I recall a member on here I think B-loose in a red XJ on 33s running it ,and I don't think waqlk o r "crawl" would be the operative word for that run on 33s ,so 35s would be about the same run with todays trail conditions ...SLOW AND PAINFULL.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Yeah that's the 'I can't do it so no one can' mentality I'm used to hearing here. Painful? Ya. Lots of body massaging. Slow, in a few spots more than others. But isn't that the definition of crawling. It's not a koh lcq. Yeah it's different now. Just like it was different then. The lines change. But it can always be done.

Well never said it "could not" be done I said it would be slow and painfull as in it will take you overly long to run it making for a loooooong day and you plugging the trail as you attempt to push on up the trail .

Time2GetDirty-Wrote...Next time I find myself with a stock project I will attempt it stock.

I can Tow my XJ and Trailer with your Miata instead of my Dodge , But no one would consider that a win who had to follow it on the highway .I think taking a fullbodied rig on 35s or a "stock" rig on 30-31s on Carnage Canyon would be viewed the same by anyone who was unfortunate enough enough to be on the trail behind you . Just B/C you can do it does not mean it's a "success" .

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Why. I ran it faster than most people in full built 'tons' rigs on way bigger tires and larger budgets. So it would suck for me to be behind them. We've been over this repeatedly.
TNT did it in 37's with project low wagon and it was deemed a giant success on the jk30. But they also had to winch the exit. We wheeled moab including Pritchett solo the week before. Drove it home. Did no maintenance. DD it for a week. Drove it to BV. Wheeled chinamens. Then hit carnage, again solo. Drove the exit. Took some damage. Finished in under 2 hours and drove it home back to Boulder before it was dark.
Just cuz you can't or won't doesn't mean it can't. No one is doing it to impress the guy driving behind me on the highway. Maybe that's why we don't have tons and 40's to run the same shit guys are running way smaller. T2gd def has the fab skill to build a very capable but moderate rig. And with the right spotting could do it no problem.
I've never wheeled with you. Mostly by chance. But I've wheeled with them. And he's got the mind to try lines that don't seem quite right but work. And although he knows I'm an asshole he knows I can sort out lines that work. Even if I can't build worth a shit.
You just have a mouth as big as your rig. If only you ran the jeep as hard as your mouth this wouldn't be a discussion years later still.
:gee: :roflmao:

The Colorado BS thread

I've been in my neighbor's leaf sprung YJ running 37's and he made Carnage w/o winching or bouncing off the reviter. On the other hand another guy in the group snapped a front chromoly D60 shaft.

My neighbor is a far better wheeler than I am, and I'm pretty sure he could still manage it.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

My tj on 35s ran through penrose like a banshee where I passed trei from co4x4 because he couldn't drive each obstacle clean first shot like I was. Stock locked rig and a helmet and cage and I will time challenge
carnage.

I would watch that :D

Just make sure you have a winch...and if it gets wet...make sure your really good at winching

I want to give Carnage another go and try and at least drive the exit.

The waterfall...that's still up in the air. If it is dry, I think I can make it. Wet...chances are slim.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Looking forward to Black Friday.

Not for shopping...but because CSU is playing Air Force in the last game of the regular season.

Where will I be...on the sidelines (thanks to my girlfriend's brother-in-law who works AF Security) :D

It's awesome to see my Alma mater in the top 25 this year. Hasn't happened since '97.

GO RAMS! :D

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I was going to take the boys to that one, since its across the street more or less, but sadly we'll be on the way to Seattle for Turkey Day. Should be a heck of a game, as both programs have rebounded substantially. Go Rams!

Well TnT's XJ was on 37s not 35s or smaller and that makes a difference Like 42s run over stuff much easier than my 40s . Also TnTs XJ is a far cry from STOCK which T2G said he would take a stock rig there ,which by stock i asume he means STOCK which means a fullbodied rig on about 30 inch rubber as that is STOCK ,and putting away the bench racing EGO session anyone outside not with a BRUISED EGO over my simple statement would see running that trail in a "STOCK" XJ a silly idea ...lol...better have a good winch and have some PIPES on you ...Now as to you issue with me and claiming I've got a "big mouth" ...Mike I simply made a statement that most would find 100% true ,whichj is a fullbodied rig on 35s or less is not the equipment to run that trail with and will make for long slow day , which that simple statement has had you bad mouthing me ,which I find funny B/C most outside this forum would see that as you with a BRUISED EGO and a BIG MOUTH .
