Colorado B/S Thread

Re: The Colorado BS thread

So apparently if you want to win ROTM you need a red XJ on H2's, second damn month in a row I lose by 2 votes against that setup. Oh well, better luck next time.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

get out the rattle cans! I dug both of the rigs that beat you, but I voted for you anyways.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I liked them too, but I voted for myself as well. :D

I just want to win ROTM before I suffer ADD again and get rid of the over all nicest XJ I've ever owned.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

sounds like sometime shortly after saturday, huh? :D

Re: The Colorado BS thread

No way, the CJ2 is way too tiny to replace the XJ. I've been contemplating another square headlight equipped 4dr Jeep suv, one that came with wood siding and a V8.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

mmmm sj waggy... put a gladiator front on it and I'll start drooling. I've leaned towards a woody type myself, altough a flat fender with round headlights. maybe someday, I have too many projects to even keep the WJ running well as it is.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

an orange waggy, or an orange willy's wagon? I think the orange waggy around town is running a 12v cummins...

Re: The Colorado BS thread

My Dad had a black woody 86 with tan leather when I was a kid... wish I had it still. Stock AMC CB and everything.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Yeah, they're definitely cool. I've been on IFSJAssoc all night and it seems that my drivetrain ideas are pretty doable and with good results. As in plenty of power to tow the Willy's and 22mpg average when not towing. I've got to say, that right there really has me leaning more and more towards getting one. Good power, computerless fuel injection, ability to tow, and good fuel economy. Oh yeah.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Willys!?!?!? What friggin' Willys?????

And people give ME crap about my numerous projects. At least mine stay XJ/MJ.......

:D

PM dotcom (sean) -- if he answers, he spent most of the last 3 years on the road. He'll have some insights for ya.

Mike sorry to break the news to you but that is what life is ,and your goal grasshopper is to deal with it without killing one of them, or od'ing bosses job's are to bend you over

Re: The Colorado BS thread

My uncle did OTR for 3 different trucking outfits in Nebraska. Only one of them he liked but even then, that job never satisfied him. So much of the problem deals with deadlines and the ability to keep an honest driver's log. He also did a short time as an independant leasing his own rig - said that was the worst. Of course all this was nearly 20 years ago.

Gas/operating costs and insurance for independant OTR drivers has got to be a real bitch nowadays....

I hear decent money can be made as a driver for aggregate companies, but you get paid by the load/trip...... which is why they're the most hated drivers out there - they're the ones with the long dump trucks that drive 80-85 mph in the fast lane blasting windshields and paint jobs all to hell...... all because they wanna squeeze in as many trips as they can in a day.
