Colorado B/S Thread

Re: The Colorado BS thread

ive seen guys with budget boosts on their xjs using parts off of dodge dakotas, but i was wondering if anyones ever used any front end parts at least... off of a ram full size. it seems like you would get a healthy amount of lift.. any ideas? I currently and trying to find the cheapest way to lift my jeep, and im trying to get away from the dana 35s, was thinking about taking the whole front end off of a 99 ram v8, would it work?

Your front axle is Dana 30, not a D35.

It would help to know more about your existing configuration and lift (if any).

Dodge axles are not popular for a wide variety of reasons, primarily because for the cost and effort involved the R.O.I. simply isn't there. You still end up with unit bearing hubs.

There ton's of threads about low-buck/budget/cheap lifts. Some work. Others....not so much.

Too easy to "cheap-out" and end up with a P.O.S that's not safe parked on the street.

Save up you coinage, do it once, do it right.

Florida in November ........ ROCKS! The weather has been incredible!

Spent the afternoon fishing off the Naples Pier in the Gulf of Mexico. Windy but good fish action...... mostly catfish but got a Jack fish...... these little bastards kept stripping the shrimp bait off my hook. Fun to catch...... good little fighter on the line.

Tomorrow were boat fishing in the mangrove channels & canals in the morning, then go out a mile or so into the gulf and "chase the gulls" to see if we can catch Snook, Tarpon and any of the many small species of sharks.

What's that smell? Oh it's just Troy.

Why is you're finger shoved down that things mouth? Cradle that thing with some tender loving care would ya? Although I guess you don't wanna get any fish slime on your delicate fingers? This photo will re-appear later on. I'm putting it in the file right next to the one with you and fat thumbed Steve in the Van.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I just showed the "Catch of the Day" to Heather and she said, "I don't even hold a fish like that. Is he scared of it?"

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I live four blocks from Colorado College, an uppercrust, liberal, liberal arts college. They all claim to be environmentalists. Yet, when I walk around the neighborhood, I see those damn cups scattered around, in yards, in the street. There was a movement to register keg numbers to cut down on keg parties, I say, forget that, register the damn cups so we can crucify the dumb drunk college kids that can't pick up after themselves.

Funny video, though. :)

My 7 year old just looked over my shoulder and asked "Why does he have his finger in its mouth?"

Yeah....... I'd like to see any one of you 'tards hold on to a super-spastic Jack fish long enough to get a pic where its NOT blurred or the fish isn't in mid thrash any other way and still be able to release it............. fawkers....... :moon:

Its because Troy caught one of those very rare Bulimia Jacks and he's just giving it a helping han..er.. finger.

On another note, the news last night said that there was a 116 mph gust  on Red Mountain Pass and an 80 mph gust on Monarch Pass.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I have another noob question for yall. I am thinking at this time and the amount of time I have a 8.25 rear is best. With the iro hack and tap and iro 6.5 lift what will have to be changed to swap a d35 for a 8.25

Re: The Colorado BS thread

6.5's a bit tall... but you'll need:
driveshaft (need this anyways to do a hack and tap)
ubolts (get ones for an 8.25, different diameter)
shocks (probably come with the lift kit)
brake line (hopefully comes with the lift kit, if not, get one)

that's about it I think.

I was thinking something along those lines. He's so envious of Kevin's return to skinnydom, he's going to help out anyone he can..."Canz I lend you finger, buddy?"

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Wonder if the fish likes donuts ??

How would we ever know? Troy would have at them all...:sunshine:

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Yeah because Jacks are so much more slippery and flop around more out of water than any trout or Kokanee. Christ...this was Heather's first Koke. You can't teach skills like that.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Looking at that picture really got me a bit upset. When we first moved here, the salmon run out of 11 Mile was epic. It was like a taste of Alaska. Now...nothing. I haven't seen them run in damn near 5 years.
