Colorado B/S Thread

Re: The Colorado BS thread

That's totally f'd up, Matt. ROR funny, but f'd up! :D

It wasn't me, it was Jeff!

Come to think of it, being that he is Chinese, and mentally deficient, he is still probably smarter than me. But it still makes me ROR, and I'm OK with that. :)

Re: The Colorado BS thread

damn. I just read it again. and ROR'd again. :roflmao:

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I'm going to go with better milage and more torque, along with the only justification for owning a liberty. I thought the CRD's were 05-06 only, though... Sam knows for sure.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Liberty diesels , My bro is thinking about getting a 07 liberty crd.. i am wondering what the advantage is ? beside mpg ' and more torque, ?

Diesels get better fuel economy, make more torque, and typically have a life span far longer than any gasoline engine ever will. Over the orad trucks with heavy duty diesels can see as many as 1,000,000 miles on them withou need for major overhauls on the engine. Now those engines are built a bit differently than the light duty engines found in vehicles like the Jeep Liberty, VW TDI's, and even the Big 3's 3/4 and 1ton trucks. Those lighter duty diesel engines tend to rev higher and make more HP/ less torque than a heavy duty diesel engine would. That being said my 7.3L PSD went roughly 250,000miles and only failed because of a bad lifter coming apart and shoving an intake valve into the #5 cylinder. And even with 1 cylinder completely destroyed it was able to tow my Jeep home from Idaho Springs and still ran/drove until I took it apart to find out why I was down a cylinder and getting compression blow back into my exhaust stream (enough to stall the turbo).

Honestly Jim, I think after being spoiled with your WJ you wouldn't go for the spartan feel of a Liberty. Good news though is there were WK Grand Cherokee diesels too. My wifes next ride is a toss up between finding one of those or a V6 TDI Touareg for the right price/condition.

I'm a huge fan of diesels and think them to be far superior to their gasoline brethern, especially now a day with all the technology advances that have been made with high pressure injection and quick spooling, variable vane turbos. Look at Audi's huge success (and even those Puegot fags when Audi slacks a bit) at Le Mans with their diesel race cars. These being 12-24hr endurance races where power, reliabilty, and economy all have to be at a maximum and in balance to be successful. The diesels have been on top since they started being fielded.

I thought it was just me... :dunno:

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Does anyone know of a semi ez fix for the pos lift arms falling off the ball thing all the time?

It took me awhile, but I think I got it.

Use a broomstick.

I believe he is asking about the little ball end connectors on the lift arms on the tailgate.

Was I close?

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Lol it didn't make much sense even after I read it too. And yes the rear lift gate. With out using a broom stick is there a common fix? Both of the connectors on the body side a worn and the ball of the knuckle and ball on the lift gate side are worn too. I put two new "struts" on it and it now holds it self open but I have to close it slow and ez or the supports pop off.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Its not because your ends or worn out on the Jeep, its because they changed the clip design on the struts. Your old strus had a wire/spring clip that went through two small holes on the ball end of the stut and then clipped to the rod on the strut. The new style just has two little jaws inside the ball to hold them on. Swap the ends out with the ones from your old struts and re-use the old spring clips. If you lost or broke the spring clips some .030 solid welding wire works really well.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Ahh that's the info I was looking for! Sweet! I am glad it is that ez. The first thing on this pile that is gonna be an ez fix.......Aww yea I shouldn't of said that.....

Re: The Colorado BS thread

ez got me thinking.

One of my million dollar ideas is a lubricant designed specifically for men. Whereas Kentucky Jelly seems more feminine, I'd like to call mine Dickeez.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Florida in November ........ ROCKS! The weather has been incredible!

Spent the afternoon fishing off the Naples Pier in the Gulf of Mexico. Windy but good fish action...... mostly catfish but got a Jack fish...... these little bastards kept stripping the shrimp bait off my hook. Fun to catch...... good little fighter on the line.

Tomorrow were boat fishing in the mangrove channels & canals in the morning, then go out a mile or so into the gulf and "chase the gulls" to see if we can catch Snook, Tarpon and any of the many small species of sharks.
