Colorado B/S Thread

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Note to self NEVER buy moog ball joints!

I think I have to agree here. The quality of Moog has dropped quite a bit lately! One of my wheelin peeps here has been through 3 sets of the damn things due to piss poor quality!! I am running a set that seems to be fine at the moment but if that changes I will NEVER buy their shit again!!

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Good friend of mine out here also will never use Moogs again... I use Spicer or TRW personally (TRW only on street-only/DD rigs.)

Are you sure the upper arm of your inner Cs isn't bent? If it is, it will result in more space between the boot and the knuckle. The front axle I tossed in the MJ (got it for 60 bucks rust free, available when I needed it) came with 1/4" of space between the inner C and the upper balljoint mount on the knuckle, after I straightened the inner C back out (BADLY bent) it went down to ~1/8" and if I pounded on it a little more it'd probably be 0" and closer to factory camber.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

It's not unheard of to get bad parts from the box. That is why they come with a warranty.

These quality issues are starting to sound like the rule, not the exception. It is disappointing to hear that a premium brand is screwing up like that.

I don't think the inner c is bent as the other upper I got seated just fine.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Went to the range today, played with the toys. Put a little over 50 rounds through the .44mag and another 50 through a .38 Ruger, and a shit-ton through the .22.

Coolest pic of the day:

Best grouping:
.44 mag, 240g JHPs, 25 yards out. 2 groups of 6 in the middle.

LOL
First time I did any night shooting was with my Redhawk. First round I thought the thing exploded, nearly soiled myself.

Store bought cartridges were godawful expensive. I hope you reload. :)

I noticed that about the redhawk I rented from the range I went to last year. Still probably my favorite weapon.

Lol yeah, it's definitely one hell of a bang. At one point we had an older guy come up to us, "what in God's name are you shooting?!" Asked him if he wanted a go at it, quickly refused lol. My buddy and I brought this girl with us who'd never shot a gun before (had the .38 for her, neither of us like shooting it)... I had her stand next to me while I put a round through the Ruger so she could see what to expect, she was a little startled but wasn't too intimidated. Then I picked up the .44 and put a round through it, she jumped and screamed when it went off :roflmao: Tried to get her to give it a go, she wanted nothing to do with it.
And yup, kept all our brass, I'm too cheap to not reload em... box of Remmington 180 grains is $35 at wally world :conceited.
We're thinking about loading em with 500g's and put em through my buddy's Desert Eagle :guitar:

Personally I'm not a fan of Rugers. Dunno what it is, but I just don't like the way they feel. If I could have any handgun I wanted for xmas, it'd be an Anaconda with the 6" barrel... LOVE that gun.

My .44 is spoiling me, I've gotten used to it's hairtrigger... having to put any amount of pressure on the triggers of the other guns is kind of a pain in the ass now lol. I shot much better with the .44mag than I did with the .38, and I blame it entirely on the trigger pull.

Yeah, dunno what it is but I'm more accurate with the redhawk in 44mag than I am with most other things. Spent a day firing an AR15, a sig P223 in 9mil, and the redhawk, at the end of the day no one else wanted anything to do with the redhawk because they were sore, so I took the last few shots with it... best shots of the day. It's probably just the way it fits my hand, which I like better than most other guns I've fired.

I need more practice, I've been too broke (self imposed, saving for the house and buying jeep parts) for the last year or so to hit the range or do much of anything. Within a few months I should legally reside in Southbridge though, where I can get my LTC/FID more easily, then I can save a lot of money by not having to rent weapons at the range which means I can use my own ammo instead of the stuff they make you buy if you use their weapons.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

tell ya, wish i could afford to just do school and not have to work.

while today was the first day of this "new guy" at the shop, i spent all day rockin out tickets while looking for service work vehicles needed. Ended up finding work that woulda been about $130 in commission for me today, and they gave it to someone else. kinda takes away the incentive to find work if I wont be given the chance to do it and make the money....
stupid management lol

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Went shooting again today... I've put 150 rounds through that .44 in two days... my left palm has a callous from the edge of the grip lol.

Sign in a rest stop on the side of the highway somewhere in the mountains. It's one of those toilets that's just a seat with a big hole in the ground. I LOL'd.

Having fun with Dr. Pepper cans and a Rem 870 tactical...

And of course the .44...

This was fun.... but fairly stupid. Blew a hole in a tree stump with a slug from about a foot away, then stuck a shell of birdshot in the hole, and each took 3 shots at it with the .22 from about 40 yards out. Before and after pictures:

Overall a fun day.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

FYI, if anyone needs tire work done the WalMart at C-470 and Bowles is a nice place to go. Jason, the service manager, is a fan of XJs and gave me a great deal on dismount, then mount/balance of some 33s. Just take your XJ or tell him that you've got one. ;)

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Can you say darwin awards?

I actually did, I just didn't type it.:gag:
