Colorado B/S Thread

Re: The Colorado BS thread

haha, well, least you're not CSP and in the Solitary... ugh.

Meh...... at least those inmates know how to do time. Not like the candy-asses in my facility. Buncha cry babies..... with smelly diapers.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Hmm... your best bet is probably to set the ecu and the control panel aside and roll your own controller. Probably not hard but I won't be able to really spend much time on thinking about how to do it till Monday and I can't even guarantee much then :( another thing you can do is wire a bunch of optoisolators or relays up to the separate button positions on the board and drive them all with that big wonky button. I have to say I'd probably want the one button instead too, or maybe one button each for front and rear.

Off to the airport at 5am... going home. Wish I had more time outside the lab while I was here, today was my second day off in 3 weeks.

We don't have whatever's necessary to make our own circuit boards, and I haven't looked into making a wiring harness from scratch to control the suspension... although that shouldn't be too terribly hard, I'll look into it in the morning.

It's pretty lame that you have to reinvent the wheel Mason. Are you sure there are no auxillary inputs for that fancy controller?

If you can't figure this one out, tell the boss it's over your head. Someone who understands controls would thank you to not jack it up for trying.

Ugh, you're tellin me man. No aux inputs, first thing I checked.
If I can't figure it out we'll use the controller but then we'll have to figure out something for those holes in the dash.

Didn't read the whole post but when do you need this? I have a little bit of experience in this :)

I have a pickup in the garage we are slamming right now.

By the way, 67's have a special place in my heart. My first hotrod was a brand new 67 I bought and proceeded to slice and dice.

Need it ASAP. Car needs to be completely done by the 10th. As of right now I have the front suspension almost completely done, the front brakes should be done tomorrow. Gotta finish the dash so I can get the wiring done. Drivetrain won't be here till next week (blowers had to be custom made cause they don't make em that big). Don't even have the rear axle yet. Gotta shorten the seat brackets/cut the floorboard to fit the seats. Gotta run the fuel, brake, and air lines through the frame, then fill it with foam. Gotta beeline the back and make a box to cover up the air compressor/tank. And more
I'm a little stressed over this, can you tell? :wierd:

I have to disagree a bit here, inmates become bigger cry babies as the custody level goes up! All inmates are whiners! I have worked with all custody levels and I hate the USP bitches the most!!

Just run a fused hot to the push buttons and feed a up and down set of relays (old school)

That's probably what I will suggest once I see more than a tiny bit of those pics... cellphone internet leaves something to be desired.

The only hangup I can think of is some sort of interlock to prevent over/underinflation. I can't tell if there is any such thing in the factory setup. If there are no interlocks rig it like jim said and call it a day.

Agree, but if mason doesn't know the difference between a sink and a switch, or how to wire a latch circuit, he's over his head. It looks pretty simple, but without knowing how those height sensors work, we could help him let the smoke out in short order.

It's the details that'll kill ya! :soapbox:

Woo new toy, I'm thinking white top/silver body

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Convinced the boss to drop the pushbutton idea. Told him I had a better one and had to pull it out of my ass lol. I'm gonna pull the controller chip out of the plastic chit its in and have a brushed stainless faceplate machined for it and make it part of the overhead console.
I hate wiring.
