Building custom cars :D

I start out my day tomorrow wiring (from scratch, and I hate wiring as it is) a one-off Mustang (an old fastback, not sure on the year) that apparently is going for $3.5m , then when I'm done with that I'm building a cage for some truck I haven't seen yet.

Sounds like a sweet set up! It may be hard to ship out in march when you're leaving a dream job like that at home. Congrats!

damn! I would kill to do custom automotive wiring for money every day. Sounds like an awesome job.

But then again I'm an EE nerd, so that probably isn't very surprising.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

FWIW to anyone in the springs, do NOT order anything from Hoyal Board Co. at the citadel mall.
i placed an order for a snowboard under the idea that:
1)the board was in stock and readily available
2)the board would be shipped out the following business day
3)the board should take no mare than 5-7 business days to arrive.
4)i had to pay full amount up front due to special order

as of tomorrow it will have been 3 weeks, 15 business days. after having called a few times and stopped in, apparently im shit outta luck. the store has no way of tracking the delivery of the product, they say it was shipped the day after i ordered and that they will call me when it shows up but that there is nothing i or they can do about it til they call me to come pick it up.

when i ordered it, i had checked all teh shops in a 40 mile radius to see if anyone carried it, noone did, and upon talkin to the guy at Hoyal, he said his shipping was faster than online, would be free, and should take only a few days

well had i purchased online, it would have been same cost + $12 shipping that would be ups with trackin number delivered in 7-10 business days.

now, its been 3 weeks, they refuse to give me a refund, "cuz you cant get deposit back on special order"
i said, "deposit my ass, i fully paid for a board that shold been here a week ago and you cant tell me where the hell it is, and now you refuse to give a refund. even tho there is no signage in store or on reciept stating thats the rule."

so in a nutshell, while the staff is very knowledgable about the items they sell, their shipping and customer service is absolute garbage. i would not recommend ANY order from them, its a nightmare

Thanks! Yeah lol I'm not gonna wanna leave when the time comes. Right now its in a smaller shop, pretty basic work area, but next month we're moving into the old Brinks Security warehouse... place is fawking huge, nice polished shop floors, TVs in the shop and lobby, and 3 semi-fulls of new tools/machinery to put in... brake presses, CNC machines, monstrous Snap-On tool boxes full of tools, etc.
All of which I get to use for whatever I please in my spare time, and I've got big plans for this ZJ :D (although from the sounds of it there won't be much of that, this Mustang needs to be finished in 10 days and all it is right now is a body and cage).

You come do the wiring for me and I'll build you a cage lol. I hate electrical stuff. Hate it.

And Mike, thats crap. There's absolutely no reason you shouldn't be able to get a refund on it. What board did you absolutely have to have?

That's crazy. Most local board shops take care of their people because it's such a small niche their selling to. 3 weeks is crap, especially now that A-basins open I'd be pissed. What board was it? I've always ordered my special order boards from backcountry.com and have never had a problem. I think it's cool you tried to buy local first to support the little guy, I just can't understand why they are blowing you off.
