Colorado B/S Thread

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Hey, you guys with experience with the late-models... where does the fuel pump wiring connect to the harness? On a 2000, specifically.

I'm gonna sound like a dirty old man here........... but it's totally unintentional......

Keri: Are you interested in detailing my Dually? It REALLY needs it........

I've been trying to find a place to detail my truck. Maybe I'm not looking for the right businesses, but the dually thing always seems to be the problem....... "It won't fit through our automated wash."

I guess they've never heard of hand washing? :dunno:

The fuel pump harness disconnects right there by the front of the tank. One electrical plug, 2 fuel lines - one pressure, one vapor return.

Same as all XJ's.

I will detail it but to be honest, right now I am very busy with work and school, i would bring it to my work, your truck would take me ALL DAY as I'm very very anal about paint. and my work does great job at a great price,(not to mention better equipment then I do currently) we can hand wash your truck no problem and then detail it. check out our website jazzcarwash.com and reviews online and give us a call if your interested I can see if Justin our lead sales can hook ya up. ( he might be able to come to your house and detail it as a side job for cheaper price then my work will price ya out. It would have to be on a Sunday. )

Hmm....
See, I have a 2000 XJ that won't start... cranks but won't fire... and all that was messed with was the harness in the rear quarters was disconnected (on both sides). As far as I know, there aren't any critical systems running through the back of the Jeep there, only the tail light boxes and the wiper and 3rd light on the hatch.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Define "messed with"..........

Did you get ALL the ground wires re-connected (if you removed the screws that hold them to the body that is.....)

Did you cut into anything?

The fuel pump harness should come up through the body under the back seat, under the carpet.

Harness was there to move the harness out of the way to do some cutting, didn't mess with anything electrical or mechanical other than that. Haven't tried reconnecting as the pass side of the harness was cut cause he couldn't separate the connector. I didn't pay attention to the rear seat area, I was working on the back cargo area, but now that you mention that Troy I remember seeing that in my old XJ.

If you really want your Heep detailed GO WHEELIN, scratches and dents are beautiful :D

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I need to get locked and geared before I go wheeling again...

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Well I don't know about most of you guys but I personally like a clean vehicle so Keri had offered a while ago to detail the exterior of my jeep. And well It's Looking MUCH better. The white is not as dull and its actually shiny. Thanks keri :D

MMM shiny... :D

Shiny is good. i like when a white w/black vehicle is clean, sharp. need to get out there and do mine. it's due for a good hand wax/claybar

Re: The Colorado BS thread

my 96 is white and black... it's got too many tree/rock pinstripes on it to really bother detailing it.

the 91 is just white... too much rust and too many dings and dents to detail it. EVENTUALLY it will be pretty, but it's a very slow work in progress, so far I've mostly gotten it mechanically sound and pushed out a couple of the worst dents.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

what you mean? thats my picture for when i was trying to get idea of how i was gonna build my bumper...
I guess that makes you one of the cool kids. :)

Re: The Colorado BS thread

PM yellaheep -- I bet the house'o'heeps has a few different flavors in stock.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Something to keep in mind when you ask... 87-90 are going to be 21 spline, some 90s may be 23 spline, 91-96 are all the same 23 spline, 97 is the same as 91-96 but with a different electrical harness connector (cut yours off and splice it onto the new tranny, no big deal), 98-01 have an extra sensor and change a previously existing sensor. If you have a 98 or later, or a 90 or earlier, a lot of pain is involved swapping to other year ranges unless you swap other stuff as well, but 91-97 swapping back and forth is fairly painless.

Should help you out knowing which years you can swap in with varying degrees of pain.
