Re: The Colorado BS thread
Monday brought the suck! Our Vet informed us that our 17 year old dog's eye problems were caused by a tumor. The Mrs. won't let an animal suffer needlesly, so she made his last appointment.
By the time I got home from work, everyone else had already loved him up and fed him CHOCOLATE CHIP cookies! The weather for his last car ride was pleasant enough to roll the window down.
Since he doesn't takes shots well, the Vet gave him a sedative. The weather was still very pleasant, we took him for his last walk. We let him sniff anything he wanted, pee wherever he saw the need. The sedatives kicked in, I carried him the last 100 ft to the vet's table. The words "good dog" were nesting in his ear as he took his last shot...ever.
That's about all we could do for him. We miss him terribly, and probably will for some time to come.
RIP my bug-eyed little friend!
