Re: The Colorado BS thread

CoFest page, as well as the chapters facebook page, have been updated with pics if anyone is looking for any.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I see this is just the BS thread so better than starting a new thread. Im in the MWC but we are looking to move.

Besides tourist/seasonal jobs is there any other industry in or around mineral county? We are looking in that area or close to it as possible.

Don't need 100k a year just enough to cover rent/mortgage and wheeling trips.

Anyone from the area have any advice I would appreciate it.

LOL great news. Ill see what kind of job I can land around that area then for 100k or more.

I have some skills just curious from people in the area if they are applicable in that area of the state.

what is the law enforcement like? Much turnover?

I can always go back to working in a garage for a while I suppose.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Income is selective based also don't forget. Some people are happy with very little and some think you have to have 100k to survive.

I can't see the cost of living being that much higher but then again I have never been to Colorado. So I may be way off.

For goodness sakes it isn't like Colorado is California  or is it

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Is it really that bad? Anyone have any advice for a rural area or a decent wage?

I don't want to hear "don't move here". I cant stand this flat country any longer!

Corn far as the eye can see

Re: The Colorado BS thread

If you want affordable you'll be living in the flat areas. Want cheap? Look at deer trail. Average house for rent in Denver is quickly approaching the 2k a month mark. It's hard to justify staying where I work because I have to make that much just to afford the area.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

we don't want to be near the Denver area.

WE WANT Western or north western area. Cheap is always good, any work in that area? What is the average commute time for most of you guys? live and work in the same areas?

Springs used to be cheapish. There's a migration now though, and it seems everything has gone up for housing. Houses are selling here within 1-3 days of listing. There's a place next to me that does vin verifications , and lately it's been non stop Florida and Texas plates. Pretty much everything on the front range has gone way up.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I commute 45-hour each way. Springs has gone to shit. Pueblo is still shit. If you don't want western or northwestern that eliminates a lot. Rest of state is just flat of too expensive. Pick your poison.

Sorry guys, we want western to north western. I didn't write that correctly.

Creede is a place that we are coming to visit and we would really like to find a place there.

Silverton and Ouray I know are awful expensive But we love the area.

A small loft or upstairs apartment would do us for a while. Just so we can get acclimated and explore the areas.

I really need something that has a garage of any kind to store all my tools. LOL that's about 75% of what we will be towing with us.

I don't care to drive more than 20-30 minutes but id be comfortable making 40-50k a year. Maybe less depending on housing obviously.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Yeah. We are playing with the idea of montrose ourselves. Prices dropped on west slope due to oil and nat gas busts. Close to everything. We don't have kids so no concern of bad school systems. Plus no one really tries to move there.

By west slope what area are you referring to? On the west slope of the mountain range I assume? I am still not familiar enough with the area

We have a little boy who is 2 but we will home school him so no worries on that. Just want smaller population.
