Re: The Colorado BS thread
I actually tried to run a few errands in this crap! After watching my windows get covered in snow in about 30 seconds at a red light I decided it wasn't worth it. To make matters worse, Debbie's insulin pump died yesterday and she had a bad insulin reaction. It's always nice to have a dozen or so members of the local Fire Department and Ambulance company at your domicile at Zero-Dark Thirty. Actually very happy that these guys and gals are out there for us when we need 'em. Hats off to those that serve in the public sector.
So I contacted the pump supplier as soon as the house was somewhat back to normal and arranged for a new pump to be shipped over-night, post-hast, with utmost urgency....since it's a life or death issue to be without insulin in ones person when one is a diabetic. We had to resort to using syringes, which was (is) a pain in more ways than one. Deb hasn't taken a shot in damn near 7 years.
Fast forward to this AM and we haven't received an email confirming shipment of the replacement pump. Another phone call and 15 minutes of hold time and another 10 of "What? Huh? We have no record of your husband calling." YGTBSM!!!!!!
So I'm home again to help out and make sure that Wife is in good condition and stays that way till the FedEx van rolls around tomorrow.
