My issue is the way things are handled. There is a very good ol boy system here. and just like the punking BS doesnt fly with out actual govt and people speak out about what is wrong with it - thats whats going on. things are handled like horse shit and im speaking up about it. "MOST people like how we are doing things" No shit! the people you talk to are the people you are protecting and babysitting.....

I was around for the BS. I am going to say nothing because I will get slammed by the stupid rule police again. I know all three of you and I like each and every one. Does it really matter who did who wrong or said what....... NO! We should all be friends though I think that may be difficult for some of you. Let's leave the past in the past and enjoy this forum and our hobby together in harmony :thumbup:

My post was aimed at both of you and a heads up for others. It was a warning that you were both approaching the line. in4aride, you were not over the line yet but it looked like you were heading there. Frank, your actions were not appreciated. You push the limits. For years you did the same things that you are now bitching about. Both of you need to be aware that commercial type posts were tolerated as long as everybody got along and it didn't get out of hand. Mosts chapters have a lot tougher rules on commercial posts.

Things are quickly getting out of hand and your bickering is going to get the door slammed on all posts that even smell of a commercial nature.

I have always gone out of my way to help local vendors and let a lot of things slide. I am starting to regret trying to be the nice guy.

I really want to support the local vendors, but now we have vendors that are in direct competion with each other and times are tough. Being a vendor at NAXJA is not cheap.

I have made a proposal to the BOD about making some changes to help the local vendors be more visible and have a bit more access to the masses. National vendors were once local vendors and without the vendors our sport would suffer greatly.

I would like to see members be able to opt in to a PM or email list for vendors they select so updates, specials, and such could get directly to them. If any of the vendors have any ideas on how we can improve things, I would REALLY like to hear them.

Tom,
Why not just have a Colorado chapter vendor thread.
Let the vendors old and new pitch whatever they want to in that thread.
If nobody wants to read it, so be it.
If we need a part or service, we can check that thread for matches.
I rarely click on the banners but that might just be me.
Just a thought. You da boss.

I'm pretty disgusted with what I've just read that has been posted in the past couple hours while I was out celebrating my wife's birthday.

The incredibly STUPID conduct over perceived competeting businesses is the most childish, disrespectful and unprofessional stuff I've seen happen on an enthusiast forum that I can recall.

The initial post by Mike of the jeep in the shop..... no one here is daft enough to believe that it was posted JUST to show Ryan's rig was finally getting the repair it needs...... otherwise it'd been posted without mentioning it being SFF's new shop. It kinda came across as "SFF to the rescue!" in a way, along with a little plug that SFF has new digs.

But with that said...... I saw NOTHING wrong with Mike's post as it was.

Frank, I'm at a loss for words. YOU sir should be rising above all that pettiness and let it go. Focus your efforts and energy in your new endeavor. Your posts actually both angered me and disappointed me.

I hate even posting this up publicly....... but here's the substance of this ugly sandwich..... I'm on the BOD and have to face the brunt of actions taken whether they're popular or not....... So I gotta voice my position on this and state that I disagree with the way things were handled by Tom, Frank and Mike.

So, let's all just chill out and I'll get with Tom, Justin, and Fred and we'll hammer out what we feel should be done about all this vendor silliness. Indeed, I have a vested interest in what ultimately happens...... just as Frank and 'Stang do.

i was going to post that i did not see anything wrong with mike's post.
i can now see how Tom saw it.(new shop,this could turn into "how much to do this")

(SFF saved the day with his new shop)

to be honest, it never crossed my mind that Mike was posting up to FLAUNT the new shop for Advertising...

I'd personally LOVE a PM from everyone who agrees with this statement. I can count on ONE hand the number of people who have disagreed with any action/decision made by the Chapter BOD since I've been involved (6-7 years or so). And on the other hand, I can count the number of people who've taken exception to the actions I've taken as a moderator....... oddly enough...... they're almost all the same people.

So, with that said...... if I find that I get a shit-ton of PM's advising me that my BOD participation and/or my moderating decisions are less than appreciated, I'll be more than happy to submit my resignation as both a Chapter Director and Moderator.

I mean this with all sincerity. I wanna know if I suck at this job.

honestly, i think if you DO break the rules. you should expect the consequences.. no matter who you are....

Frank- if you are gonna advertise for you business....
the same rules should apply to you as they do to everyone else....
i have seen a few (not many) posts that you DO advertise and nothing gets said...

Mike- they just saw it as, it might turn into a advertisement.

however, i am a bit on Mikes side on this one....
because he DIDNT advertise.... and ASSUMPTIONS were made that he was going to.
so he got a slap on the wrist for it....

i know Tom didnt mean to direct that toward Mike only... but it appeared as if Mike posted the pic, Tom saw it and posted a reminder of the rules...
may have been bad timing because it looked like he was putting the hammer down on MIKE.

Troy, please dont take offense to my posts. i am not in anyway saying you guys suck at your jobs!!! i am saying this from an outside view on things.....

if people are going to get mad at Mike and Frank, they may as well be mad at everyone.... its not always the advertiser that brings it up... a lot of the time its the customer that brings up, where is it, or how much for this, or how much an hour...

just sayin..... everyone is fighting over some stupid s**t.
seeing you guys fued all the time is turning me off of this site...

FWIW, I fully agree with Yella, and I apologize for my feeble attempts at mediating. Please pardon the interruption, resume your e-pissing contest, and know that when you're out of piss and vinegar, I'll gladly buy the first round for those I know and respect, which is more often than not the lot of you. :cheers:
