Colorado B/S Thread

Re: The Colorado BS thread

HBD Led! Sorry I couldn't make it. I'm sure it woulda been alot more fun than the wedding I had to go to.

Yeah, today is a good day for being a couch potato.

Looks like I'm gonna miss heading up to the hills to wheel among the fall colors...... AGAIN. :banghead:

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Oh yeah... I left "cleaning kids puke out of XJ" off my list -- we tried to do the fall color thing yesterday, but Tay had a case of the yackies. :puke: :conceited

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Wait, what?

Supply and demand.

They have a very unique skill set that is in high demand and short supply. No different than any other job that pays extremely well. Considering the fact that most of these guys have a 10 year career at best, I can't blame them a bit for negotiating huge contracts. in a Free market society the seller can charge whatever the market will bare. As skill levels increase, the cost of that service will increase if there is a limited supply. How is this different from any other profession?

Just because you personally don't care for the sport certainly doesn't mean its a waste of time for everyone. Actually that's rather arrogant.

Well, if you enjoy funding their ego's go for it...........

Re: The Colorado BS thread

And you don't buy any product advertised during an NFL Game?

Nope not anymore! Can't say I never did, I used to be a huge Bronco fan and own some Elway stuff but find no interest in that now. My time and money is better spent elsewhere!

Re: The Colorado BS thread

No beer?
No clothing?
No food?
No footware?
No vacations?
No cars?

No products or services of any kind?
I generally buy beer I like, not what is advertised. If they happen to be the same thing it is a coincidence.
Clothing - I don't believe I own a single Nike product, and don't know what other brands are advertised
Food - same idea, mostly I cook my own
Footwear - leather boots 365 days a year
Vacations - nope haven't taken more than a couple days off this year, don't usually go places when I do, I stay home and work on my jeeps/other vehicles/apartment/projects or I go on a road trip with friends.
Cars - well, not really, 3 jeeps and a really big jeep

I agree with Ira here except I don't begrudge them their income at all, the risk of injury is extremely high and they need to plan for that by making enough to live off of as quickly as possible, or learning another trade to take up when they leave pro football.

Never said it was a waste of time for everyone, it's a waste of time for me (and Ira apparently, lol). The fans make the sport, just like actors/actresses, musicians, and I think they are all over paid as well. Don't take my personal view on the subject as me discounting Professional Football players talents, but more less, what the American people have done to put these people up on a pedestal. Hell if it were up to me, the Troops,Firefighters, and Cops would be making the big bucks, but its not, so i'll continue to not watch professional sports.

Whatever man.

Just because you think its a waste if time doesn't mean it is for those of us who do enjoy watching pro sports.
