COD MW2

Yes sir. Instead of taking a PC version and 'dumbing' it down to work on a console, they took a console version and ported it to the PC.

Edit: And that also makes it so that instead of having good (free) user created content, they can sell their sub-par DLC for $$$.

So they really removed the only incentive to buy the PC version then?
Custom content was the only reason I would consider a PC version... None of my friends are PC gamers, so I usually buy the "Xbox 3-shitty" of everything...

Exactly.

I could KINDOF understand if they made xbox and PC versions the same so that they could have Xbox and PC playing on the same network. I.e. playing on the same servers together...

... but then us PC gamers would get the 360 people whining that it's unfair since PC gamers can react better with keyboard/mouse :D

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy some good 360 games too (including some FPS)... but PC is far superior for FPS. no questions asked. I just cant believe that IW went from being a company built by the PC gaming crowd to absolutely ignoring the PC crowd just so it would be an equivalent game on all systems.

My PC cost me far more than my Xbox, so I expect it to perform better. If someone wants to spend 300$ on an Xbox, and I spend $1000 on my PC (for example) I would expect better performance out of a PC version. I paid for for a system that can handle more. Would I buy a BMW M5 and expect the same performance and options as a Toyota Camry?

I think I will sit down for some good wholesome CS:S tonight.

Edit: And I think the top end graphics are limited a bit as well.

I beat the campaign, hands down the best game i have ever played. The nigh vision goggles work pretty well too.

I forget? ahaha. Lately I have been playing L4D once every long while, Killing floor once in a while, CS:S once in a while, and any number of the 10-15 games I have if I get bored enough.

I think my steam ID is intel8052. if that's not it, it may be based on my old email address [email protected]. Let me know if either of those work. If not, I got some other stuff to try. :dunno:

Download and burn? You mean a PC version? It's not possible with the PS3.

Can you back up your games to the PS3?

For the guys saying they'll never pick up this game because of how IW "hobbled" the PC version out of the gate, I've gotta say - you're missing out on one of the best shooters ever created. Seriously. You buy a game for what it is out of the gate, not for what it can become once a bunch of modders get their hands on it.

I haven't played CS:S much in a long time, and I really kinda suck at it now . Lately I have been playing a good bit of Forza 3 and Battlefield 1943 on Xbox. Maybe I will have to start playing CS:S and TF2 more often again (never played TF much, though it was fun.

How bout you stick to pong?

Lack of dedicated servers means no clan servers, no tournaments, no mods, ... plus I don't want to put my gaming under full control of IW who might decide to screw with their master browser. COD franchise was built on PC platform with mods and tourneys and clans, so this is pretty much a slap in the face to that group, my clan is skipping MW2 since we can't play it competitively, and we are switching en masse to Bad Company 2.

I understand the concept of making a good game out of the box, and I am fine with that....

What I cannot understand is a game such as MW2.. in early interviews IW stated that it would have all of the 'features' I would want. What did they do? Go and remove all of them. REALLY?!? OF ALL THINGS TO TAKE OUT, NO LEAN?!?!? THAT is how much they gimped the PC version. They took the console version which would be harder to effectively put a 'lean' feature in... and just put it on the PC. Maybe I will buy the game when its cheap. We will see. What I will not do is reward a company for negatively impacting a game. If they won't make games to the best of their ability, they don't get my money. Like I said, I still enjoy other games, I will keep playing those. I will not pay 60$ for 5 hours of single player. Thats 12$ an hour. Screw that.

I loved Modern Warfare and was actively looking forward to MW2. It was one of my top 2 games to buy this season (along with Forza 3). Too bad.

x2. I wasn't a huge fan of bad company 1 for some reason. but battlefield 1943 is awesome. for a cheap xbox arcade game, multiplayer only... i have had more hours of fun. Maybe I will have to check out bad company 2. Hell, off hand idk if they are even by the same group. haha. I haven't paid any attention to 1943 other than that I enjoy it.

And I have a strange feeling that activision has a lot to do with the downfall of MW2.

I was a big battlefield 1942 player in the day. how is 1943? It's only console I bet.

And XXXX Infinity Ward. I played all the original Call of duty games on the pc back in the day. I raped the online servers. Cod 4 was okay and different. But with trying that dumbass 60 dollar ww2 add on. I been disgusted ever since. I'm done with COD.

You guys need to either...

A. Get a job...so you can wheel your jeep.

B. Get a job so you can buy parts for your jeep.

C. Get off the couch, go outside and work on your Jeep.

D. Get off the couch, get a job and go outside and work on your jeep.
