I wish my dorm had been coed...

I was in the "boy's dorm."
There was a community shower on my hall (8 shower heads - one big room).
When you flushed the toilet, it made the shower water temp go super-hot.
You had to yell "FLUSHING!" before hitting the handle.

Girls in the dorm would of have been too much of a distraction - my grades sucked as it was.

My dorm is sort of Co-Ed. The building is technically shared by girls and boys, but all the girls are 100 yards+ across a court yard...

Co ed dorms are awesome, but I fail to see why having more sexual partners and porn are problems?

Wrap your tool, dont be a fool.

I had some good times in the dorms. :)

Binge drinking is a serious health issue, I don't really see a problem with the other stuff though

We had coed dorms where I went. But the floors were not coed. My dorm had 2 floors of women and 2 floors of men. Most of the time we drank Wednesday because it was hump day, Friday because the weekend had started, Saturday I usually got a keg for the room which usually was drained and replaced at least once. Then on Sunday we tried to recuperate! Was a good time! Maybe that is why my GPA sucked!

...I went to a school w/ 95 percent males, and the females...I wouldn't consider them females if you ask me. Damn it all.

My freshman dorm was co-ed, alternating guys and girls every other floor.

The upper class man apartment style dorms are co-ed, and its guys and girls on the same floor. Apparently they didn't take that survey at my school, no one talks to each other in these dorms.

We just had a new residence hall open this year, and they have co-ed rooms. Guys and girls can live together in a dorm, pretty cool.

^^^ :roflmao: we pranked all the freshman dorms senior year by customizing that with our school's lingo, logos, and department names, then hung it on all the doors. We had some friends in the affected dorms who we had spread rumors that the posters were official and that they had seen janitorial staff putting them up, it was great.

My freshman dorms were co-ed by floor, sophmore dorms were co-ed by room (had girls across the hall).

I gotta admit, having girls across the hall was a PITA sometimes. At some times I would have preferred to have my floor be all guys and have the girls visit (which they did frequently enough anyway, so that just meant more girls, never a bad thing.)

Jr. and Sr. year were on campus apts, so you usually just ended up passing out where-ever. I dont think co-ed dorms have anything to do with drinking. It wouldn't have changed my drinking habits either way. It's not hard to have people visit for the drinking, hell they can even spend the night if they get too drunk to walk back to their apt. And if I wanted to have a girl visit... well it didn't matter if she was upstairs or 2 buildings away... either I would walk, or she would walk. Its a crazy thing, going to see someone a couple hundred yards away. God forbid you have to leave a building.

Oh, and my freshman year, the dorm literally right next to mine (in the quad) was on the top 20 list of most sexually active dorms in the country.. not sure how they did that study... but regardless. I'm sure my couldn't be too far behind since it was only 30 feet away.. except we had the engineering floor in our building.. and half of the other engineers were dragging us down. :roflmao:

sounds like a HUGE portion of my military life, of course when we flushed, we may or may not yell "fire in the hole!" depends on who was in the redneck bidet at the time...:twak:

The floor I was on had two bangin' hot twins across the hall. Just because I spent a lot of time hangin' out in the girls room, doesn't mean I didn't do my homework. UNC had dry dorms, so that had zero effect on our drinking habits. Party nights were Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday; it didn't matter which part of campus you were on.

Co-ed dorms were and are great, and will continue to be freakin' great... Up until the day we send our daughter off to school. At that point I'll support any effort to remove them from the face of the planet. ;)

Tuesdays and Fridays follow different schedules here, so most majors like business, polysci, etc. don't have classes on Fridays. Therefore, Thirsty Thursday is a big one here, then of course Friday and Saturday.

University of Southern Maine allows rooms to be Co-ed. My buddy lived in a 4 person suite with 3 guys and one girl.

i think there are 3 colleges in the whole country that allow it

Can't believe they spent money on that and then reported on it! Good post.
