What year XJ?
Sounds like your slave cylinder sprung a leak.

So it has a Pukegoat transmission. I assume the fluid coming out of the bell housing? What fluid were you using in it?

Sounds like you need a new slave cylinder. How many miles on it?
You really should be using Valvoline Syn Power full synthetic brake fluid or similar. I've heard of the chepo fluid eating the seals in the slave cylinders.
I also recommend getting an actual Mopar slave cylinder and not a generic from Vatozone/Kragen/etc.
Mine always last 110,000 to 130,000 miles with the synthetic fluid.

Jeee has close to 180,000 on it. So i guess its about time for this thing to go, Just did it at a bad time. On the way to an appointment with my Commander. SO i had to make some quick calls and limp it back. Then eventually tow it back. Thanks for the help, Looks like after work in the AM I will be rippin this thing apart....yet again.

got one off a 95 i will take 20 for it. not sure whats interchangable though.

You sure it's origional? While you're in there you should plan on replacing the clutch as well.

After 94 they arent interchangable from what I am reading. Because the master cylinder and slave cylinder, etc etc is one unit.

And Peogeot internal slaves('84-'90) are not interchangeable with AX15 internal slaves('91-'94).

I'd definately go to the dealer and get a clutch kit - pilot bearing, slave, pressure plate, clutch disc etc...

I fawed around with the napa clutch, and installed one that was the wrong app, and had to tear it all apart, it sucked... almost cost me a weekend of wheeling...

I'd pay good money to have the right part the first time.

bring your VIN to the dealer

Well, therein lies the issue. Good money I dont have and that means the one vehicle i have isnt drivable. Just need something to make it drivable until the 15th when i have the good money to get the Best parts. So for now I guess I am just SOL. Gonna have to deal with a PnP part for lack of funds. Just wont be hittin trails. :dunno: Anyone wanna adopt an ex-wife so i can have money?!
