Today I started having trouble with the clutch pedal was going to the floor. the clutch was barley engaging this made shifting hard it was very noticeable trying to get into second. Tranny was rebuild not to long ago I am thinking slave cylinder

sorry but the original post was from a phone anyway i started having trouble with the clutch. the pedal was going all the way to the floor and when the pedal was to the floor i could hear a grinding noise. i am not entirely sure what it is but master cylinder and slave cylinder are not leaking and they do have fluid could it be possible that it is the throwout bearing?

I would check the hydraulics, making sure there are no leaks. Is the pedal soft? Check the plastic line leading from the master to the slave cylinder. Mine worked its way loose and made contact with a hot surface...melted it through and left me without a clutch.

yes my clutch pedal is soft.

well there are no visual signs of lose of hydrolic pressure cant bleed the clutch system either because i looked everywhere for the bleeder screw and cant find one

There is no bleed screw...you just have to pump the clutch pedal until the air works its way out of the system. It took me quite a while to bleed mine after I replaced the melted hose. Just keep pumping and remember to check the fluid level.

bleed it was better for a little bit i noticed that if i pump the clutch pedal like 10 times it shifts easier which has me thinking my slave cylinder is shot. i also noticed that when the shifter is in neutral there is a grinding noise coming from could this be a throwout bearing issue? i have a centerforce stage 2 clutch and its doesnt have more than 20,000 miles on it......

deff starting to look like its a slave cylinder going to change that first and see what happens worst case drop the transmission put in a whole new clutch kit.

What about the master cylinder? Does the 99 have an internal or external slave -- assume external since you are talking about changing it out without dropping the transmission.

external slave at this time i am also flushing the transmission fluid might as well since im under there uk.

Do you get a little squeal at startup that sounds like a loose serp belt but not coming from the belt?
What you are describing sounds just like the the couple days leading up to my throw out bearing self destructing.

flushed the tranny with 10W-30 put in a new slave cylinder that is made of plastic. Its running great no grinding at all. When i flushed the tranny the fluid was really dirty (pretty sure my recent wheeling didnt help this) and there was a sulfur smell as well which means the previous owner most likely used a GL-4 or 5 which is bad for these trannys luckily it doesnt look like much damage was done. :)
