so i grabbed some of those ford 19# injectors for 32$. but they are used, but only have 72K on em.
i want to clean them before install(gonna finally do the exhuast manifold gasket, exhast donut, studs, all thread, o rings, etc...and injectors)
can i just soak these in fuel injector cleaner?
i was thinking i could build a fuel injector cleaning system with some fuel line, a used rail from the junkyard and hook up a used fuel pump to one of my spare batteries and then run the line into a bucket full of injector cleaner, acetone and gas? and have it spray into another bucket?
is there a place in sacto that cleans injectors for cheap???
or can i just soak em?

I don't really think they need to be cleaned that throughly. Just install them in the rig and clean them once they are in and hooked up. No need to go through any extra effort to have them cleaned.

sweet thats what i want to hear!
then just run some injector cleaner through the tank for a while maybe some acetone and itll all be good!

im looking forward to better performance due to fixing the exhuast leak, replacing old injectors, and replacing the broken stud on the manifold.

Never "jump" a fuel injector, the pulse width is so short that even if you jump it just for a second you could kill it! There is a specific machine to clean them, I would not bother I would just do like you said.

alright very good to know. i feel alot better about installing them now as is. thanks for the input

these are the 19# injectors, a stock renix is somewhere like 18.6#. these have a solid one peice design, they are about 15 years newer, and have a 4 hole/nozzle system to better atomize the fuel. so if you suspect your injectors on your renix are going out save some money and use these. alot of threads have guys saying their idle, mpg, and power all increased or got better. i figured for 32$ for 8 of em and im gonna be pulling em off to do new o rings i might as well replace these 20 yr old injectors. plus i smell gas sometimes and i think it could be a leaky injector.

i dont know. i know alot of guys use different ford injectors, 21# 24# etc but i dont know what your stock injectors flow at.

I was going to do this upgrade but just ready that its all kind of a waist unless your going to do cam, headers ,intake ,port and polish the head and a cold air intake. And at that point i may as well go with 4.7 or a 5.0 stroker but thats just the way my mind functions. :shhh:

Well with my other car (turbo)... you always wanted to get the injectors cleaned and flow-tested.

So personally.. if I ever have injectors already out, I send them out and have them cleaned / flow tested just to make sure they are flowing the same amount and what not. Just sucks having to wait for them... but with my other car at least I have a few sets of injectors... and when I buy used, I would get 2 extra to make sure I can get good flow patterns...

the guy at the parts counter at folsom jeep said those QD's for the rail are 17$ each, but he said they are a single price not for the set. that seems rediculously high to me. but he said he has never sold a set before either. anyone got a better idea? i should call swift jeep on arden
