Check engine problems

My check engine light is on... i can get it to go off by resetting the system and when i try to check the codes... the gauges do the whole sweep thing but never flash my serial or any obd codes.

any suggestions?
it runs fine and i really don't want to take it to a shop
it has oil & everything
i'm sure its one of the 02 sensors or something.

Well then have Autozone scan the codes if you can't read them or buy a scanner.

Mine does that too. Have to use a scanner to read them on my '99. When mine threw the code for the rear O2 sensor I replaced both, since I figured with almost 80k on them they were do to go anyways.

yeah mine is a 99 too must be a thing for this model

(gotta love having high pinion and the good intake manifold)
