i couldnt find a thread like this but does anyone weld? or know of a place that sells fair priced roll cages? i have a 4 door and would prefer to have it all the way back to my cargo with a bar right behind the first row of seats for a 5 or 4 point harness. after that i dont care what it looks like haha

Depends what you're definition of cheap is.
T and j performance has a nice cage kit. I picked mine up for 750 out the door 5 years ago. Would buy it again.

Dont use cheap and rollcage in the same sentence. This topic has been discussed a 100 times, search the modified section.

I started with the D&C cage, didnt even know they still make them. Like Cal said, its a starter cage. Ive done alot to mine and If i were to do it again, I would get the whole thing built from scratch.

that is the reason i put "effective"^ haha my jeep is nice for trails and junk... but im a broke college kid... its a daily and i just want a little protection im not doing anything crazy in my jeep but i know the Cherokees are pretty tough stock just want to make sure i can drive it home if i lay it on its side..

Call outdoor logic. They're in riverside not far from you. Their cages are top notch and very reasonable. Ask for Jimmy. 951-588-6232

You already have a hard top, so you are mostly safe already. Laying it on it's side on a trail doesn't need much cage, if any. Tons of people have laid over an XJ on a trail with no cage with minor damage. A real cage is to make the Jeep survive as much or more than the passengers. A real cage will make sure you're OK if you barrel roll it at speed on a dirt road or the highway.....if you don't smack your head on the cage tubing. Best to do a search, there are a ton of threads with good info on XJ cages.
