Charouleau Gap Run Dec 16th

Jim,

Thanks for the pictures. I haven't been wheelin' for about 6 months now - hot summer, radiator shot, but now that a new radiator's installed and other maintenance is done it's time to play. When you get the meeting place and time finalized please post it. I haven't done any runs in Tucson yet, looks like fun.

Dave,

Sure I'll join, me and my perdy XJ!! Thanks to you and Todd for all the great work.!!

Sandy

I assume the meeting time is still 9:00am at the trail head. A buddy of mine and possible new member will more than likely show up to run the gap sat. He’ll be in an xj on 32’s.

Might be a little past, depends on how long it takes to get there from breakdonalds. LOL Look forward to seeing you there.

im going to be at mc donalds at 8 as well
only a 10 min drive for me
mcdonalds will be my sons favorite part of this run.

I'll meet you guys there at approx 8 am, which means I'll leave here at around 6 ish...

Hey, is there anything going on in Tucson that might make it difficult to get a hotel room if it gets too late and I get too tired to drive home? I've been there during the Gem Show

Thanks
Sandy

nothing i know of.
its gonna be a 30ish min drive back to town to get a hotel
im not sure if there is a hotel in oracle?

justin

Oro Valley has a hotel. That will be much better than trying a hotel in Tucson. Its on Oracle road and I think its a holiday inn. I doubt Oracle has a hotel but they sure do have a massive Ford dealership. Why? I dont know.

There are hotels in the area, around Oro Valley (which I think Fireblade is talking about) and further south on Oracle. I don't think finding a room will be an issue.

Looking forward to a great turn-out. This will still be an unofficial run (we're not a real chapter YET!) but I think it's going to be a blast. party1:

Dave and Todd did a bunch of work to my rig. They didn't make it "perdy" though!!:wow:

Thanks for the hotel info, now I know it won't be hard to find a place to crash if I have to.

They did all the cool mechanical stuff and I did the rest by not taking the 4+ trails. I don't like to break stuff I can't fix...not if I can help it. Takin it to the limit is a blast, but I have to be realistic.

:scared: Looks like there will be alot of jeepers showing up. This should be a blast. Still hoping to get rock rails done and installed before the run, but if not, OHWELL< whats a little Dody Bamage once in a while??????

Well we wont lose you on the trail, you will be the only one that GLOWS IN THE DARK!!!!! LOL

Check ur e-mail.

Later

Have we got a real head count for how many are coming out? Looks like it's going to be a great run and great weather.

Who's got the most experience running this trail? I've only run this one once.

Everyone bring lunch and necessities.

Well you got more experience than me, I have never run this trail. I am a NOOB on all but Gunsight Pass, and I wouldnt say that I am over experienced at that one either.
LOL

No worries, I have ran the Gap a number of times and I have the route in my GPS from the runs. In case everyone does not know it is a full day run to enjoy it. Normally I stop at the old shack for lunch and everyone always spends a good amount of time at "the step" that's the place most of Jims photos where of from what I saw. It sounds like we have 6-8 rigs showing. If you plan on playing hard remimber to bring a few spare parts I have u joints covered for sizes on our rigs 1310s, 260s and 297s. Also just in case nobody has a Com plan I normally run channel 4 on the CB and the Date on FSR so it would be 12/16 for Sat. Can't wait see everyone Sat morning :-)

Cool, looks like we have a trail leader. Last time out there I neglected to save the route on my GPS. Will make sure I do it this time.

I'm really looking forward to the run myself.:yelclap:

OH MAN, ZipDrive is leading, GOD HELP US ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just kidding. I am stoked about the run. 6 - 8 rig's should be a NICE turnout.
BTW, is it Saturday morning yet??????????:bawl:

It sounds like I’m the only one going directly to the trail head so I will be there earlier around 8:30. That way when you get done eating in oro valley you can come on up and won’t have to wait around.
