Center Caps

I have the stock steel wheels for the XJ. I am thinking of painting the wheels black, but changing the center caps to those off the TJ steel wheels (similar to the ones on KJ's). Does anyone know if they will match up?

Here is my wheel:

I want to take the center caps off this:

For the steel wheels, the TJ and KJ caps are the same, and the TJ and XJ wheels are the same. The caps interchange. I had them on my junk until I got a set of alloys.

Note that the two pics you posted are the same exact wheel; either cap fits fine. The bolt pattern (and to a lesser degree, the way the caps mount) is important; overall rim size is not.

The holes for the center caps' screws and locating posts are drilled on the same bolt pattern as the lug nuts. So far as I know, any of the center caps for 5 on 4.5" Jeep steel wheels should be interchangeable. The pattern, spokes, arms, etc of the center cap may not match up correctly with the wheel, but that's only a problem if you don't like the way it looks.

Here's a thread where I mounted up some Jeep center caps on my Cragars. Obviously you wont have to drill your wheels out like I did, but there is a picture in the thread of the back side of the center caps you want to get. Check it out and I think you'll find it looks like the back of your current center caps.

Looks good! I was thinking about just getting a set of cragar V5's, but for now I think I'm just going to paint the wheels. However, I don't like the center cap that I have on it now, so just need to find four of those other caps!

The part number for the caps is 52059583AA. That will help if you're looking on ebay and such; if you can't find a set (or can't find them cheaply), shoot me a PM.

great, thanks. I saw a couple on ebay going for 40 and over which I thought was a bit expensive. And thats also with like 15 dollars worth of shipping.
