I guess us Curt's think alike. I too have the Cobra 75WX/ST. I mounted the "box" behind the plastic cover under the driver's seat and hang the mic from the rear view mirror. I hide the mic in the center console when it's not in use. I also have a "box" behind the dash in my M38A1. So when I drive the M38A1 I just disconnect the mic in the XJ and plug it in the M38A1. A complete 75WX/ST is around $100 and the extra box is around $25. So basically 2 CBs for $125 (for those of us with 2 jeeps)

AND !!! we both drive white XJs... have an affection for BAJA...

I hung it there for 10yrs. (in/out the console also) the cord was in bad shape, so I sent it to Cobra for a "tune up" along with $50. & got a new set up in the mail.
I agree the 2M will reach out further and is an asset... I only know two guys who wheel with them... none of the guys I run with (regularly) have it.
I could of used one once in Capital Reef... someday maybe.
