here's what i use to have in mine, just a temprary set up that can be pulled out in less than a minute and put back in. uses zip ties between the bracket and the clip.

Uniden 510 fits perfectly in the overhead console

that's the radio i have and i just used the mount it came with and put it right above my right leg on the bottom of the dash. my leg doesn't hit it and it made for really easy wiring.

I put mine in the overhead console. I'm not done with the wiring...where did you guys go for your 12v? and I plan to run the antenna coax up in the headliner, and pull it through to the hatch. I've got a no ground plane antenna to mount on the hatch. I may turn the radio around, although I like the mic cable pointing forward, and the speaker pointing back.
