Cats and cords.....

So we have a cat that has aquired the need to chew all our charger cords. He finds the white ipod cords especially yummy, but any will do, black ones last a little longer, maybe not as noticeable. Things we have tried:
- keeping them coiled, and neatly tucked away, so just the end is out to plug into the phone like on a nightstand, sidetable.
- soaking the cord in real lemon juice- doenst seem effective
-tabasco sauce- was left alone for a night or two
- habernero sauce was left alone for a night or two
- tinfoil wrapped., works until the cat batts off tinfoil to expose cord then severes.....

Our cats seemed normal until I fed them some catnip one day, now one eats cords, the other attacks our mastiff ( indoor house horse) and rides on his neck.....

So anyone know of a surefire way to my cord problem?:dunno: was thinking maybe cooltape. spent $80 on 8 cords in the last 3 weeks. thanks

Buy a bread box with the roll up door front. Cut the back out of it and put it against the wall receptacle. Lift the front door, plug in phone, shut door. Should be able to lift door and get to your phone if it rings. If that doesn't work, put the cat in the bread box and nail the door shut.

Paint the cords with rubber cement, or wrap them with friction tape then electrical tape.

Most animals don't like chewing on glue - stick to their teeth and makes everything taste funny.

(Or, put small squares of duct tape on their paws, repeat PRN. They'll be so damned busy with the tape they'll forget all about the cords...)

You tried some of that "bitter" spray for animals? Worked for my ferrets years ago when I had them.
RIP /=
