Carter negotiating with terrorists

I got the drag link straightened out for the most part, but apparently my tie rod is outta whack as the toe is way off right now. I think it has to be a recent thing cuz the tire literally went bald within the past week. Soon's I get new TREs to be able to get it aligned properly, I'll be taking it for good. Then the front skid will go on. :)

Israelis good illegal immigrants, Mexicans bad illegal immigrants, Israelis there first, Mexicans there first, the parallels and inconsistencies of US foreign policy, the hypocrisy of many of our positions, all seem relevant to me.

Maybe a negotiator with some credibility, no matter where they come from, may be the answer.
Your need to drag arguments around to different threads under the guise of "inter-relativity" makes me feel sad ...:(

Hey 8Mud, here's a question--do you think Carter's relations with Iran during the hostage crisis suffered from insufficient dialog or too much of it?

It's sad to me that he probably thinks the former, while everybody I know thinks the latter.

I think they were sure Regan would move in the sixth fleet and start chewing up Iranian infrastructure, until we got our hostages back. Something kept him from doing it after the fact, in retrospect it would likely have been a better solution and may have avoided many of the problems we have today.
No argument from me, I think Carter wimped out on that one. But that's still not saying he isn't a successful negotiator.
