Carnage Results

Well, i'd have made it out to Summer's Sat night BUT, after a nice shower I figured I lay on the bed for a couple minutes and relax, watch the news.

Next thing I remember it's 9:30 and dark, TV blaring. NO WAY I was gonna go hunting for Summers in the dark, never having been there or even in Attica.

Sorry guys, I was looking forward to talking about the days adventures.

In the morning, inspection showed my CARNAGE. Broke u-joints on my front DS and both sides on my front axle. Crushed my driver side front fender as well. I was done. Washed it up at the do it yourself by McDonalds, aired up, repacked recovery gear, and headed home. Someone stole my flag at the B&B so I couldn't have run anyway. :wierd:

Hope everyone made it home OK.

It was great putting names and faces to handles here in the forums.

Had a great time, thanks all.

Wow, with those problems, one would think it would be noticed before you left the park. So you didn't get the axle swap completed then, huh.
Glad you had the spare u-joints to limp home. It sucks that Attica dosen't have a parts store open on Sunday.
At least flags are cheap!

With the heat, and the dust out there this weekend I can see how easy it would be to fall asleep after the days runs. You missed a classic MWC campfire, noobs were inducted, stories were told and carnage was calculated.

Winner: SeanR - Driveshaft, antenna, quater panel
Runner-up - Kid - Driveshaft

Broken Cherry award - Dirk Pitt - Large Orange trail signature in drivers door of an otherwise perfect rig.

All in all a great time with good people, the belt-buckle made an apperance and so did a piercing. The MWC familly spirit of one for all was alive and strong this weekend, panels were dented, valve stems were torn, and mud was scarce, but fun was had, and bonds were renewed.

He was back on his trailer in no time Sun.

I beg to differ.

Both nights I was called, it sounded like everyone was fixing to fall asleep.
Reception was good and only one incoherent voice.

At Winterfest, however, there was not one call we got, that the person on the other end couldn't hear us and we couldn't hear them.
The only way to find out who we were talking to, was to ask the drunk bastard that made the call.

Hell, even 'what's his name' seemed tame and gentle.

How did you make it home with all those problems? Did you have to stop and replace before going home? It was good to meet you also. Thanks for showing Eric he could climb that hill in the quarry.

Kim.

Did he get a Prince Albert?

an Ampallang?

Apadravya?

We're still trying to decide, who's it actually was.

You gotta be kidding me.

That's a bummer, Dude!

No problems going home. Everything was in the front. U-joints clunked when I made turns, outside of that things were OK. Definately killed any idea of wheeling Sunday tho. 2WD till I get things fixed.

Damn, I have to wait for another conclave before I get "initiated into the brotherhood."

I concur on the voting for "Carnage." Luckily Sean got his DS welded. What happened with the antenna? Kid definately had the worst luck. That new DS from what I gather was toast. Snapped both ears off of one of the cardans.

OK... Scott, NO SPARE TIRE, NO JACK, NO TOOLS, NO XJ... I'm still trying to figure that one out!! :wierd:

It'll buff right out, except for the root shaped dent.

More to come.

I think it will be obvious who it is when the pics surface!:gag:

Paging 0313!!
Bring forth the evidence!

Had a great, somewhat more subdued (bringing your 17 year old son to a MWC campfire will have that effect), time.
Yep, 3rd time out with rear DS ending the day.
Ripped apart the double cardan center section and was on the trailer by 2:00 Saturday.
Rebuilt it, pulling the center section from Swap's spare front DS, by 9:00 that night(Thanks to all who helped).
Let son drive Sunday, only to rebreak it by noon.
No such thing as "too much flex"?
Perhaps time for limit straps and high angle driveshaft.
Perhaps.

Sitll, a bad day wheeling beats a good day in the office, hands down.
Always a great time with great people.

If you don't have an XJ and don't belong to naxja, you're exempt from naxja trail rules, right?
That is all.

Hey thanks all, had a great time.

Ill post some of the pics in the other thread.
The skin pics I think I may save for another day.

Somehow, I think that's relatively speaking. :D

Someone said it was as dry as a popcorn fart. :laugh3:

Yes, it was relative speaking.

Purdy dry... couple INCHES of water in the creek. Only 1 decent mud hole/patch. Nothing to get stuck in really.
