Alright its a friends car so i have limited information. anywho when he cranks it it doesnt start. the way he described it is kinda like when your kick starting a dirtbike and it turns over a couple times but just farts and dies. the reason im asking is the dealership said he needs to change his coolant... now this seems ridiculous to me. also he said it only happens on cold mornings.

i know its a limited discription but i thank you in advance for any input =]

Change coolant = bogus, but it's possible that he needs to change his oil to a lighter grade. If the oil is too thick, the starter can turn the engine over, but the engine cannot run under its own power (sounds wacky, but there it is).

Of course, depending on the vehicle, age, etc., there could be other things as well, such as needing an ignition tuneup. But if it starts well except on the coldest days, you might start with the oil.

i knew the coolant thing was just insane its an 06 car. oil is a good idea to lower the weight. we are in germany so it does get butt cold thanks
