I'm ready and willing to build a cage for a rally car.

I have really studied them hard to understand unibody-cage interaction and reinforcement. The E52 series Bimmer cages set up for Euro Touring car championship are really the cat's ass when it comes to uibody cages.

Of course, Jes and I REALLY want to build a desert race MJ. 7M turbo power, double wishbone front end, full tube, etc. Now I need a sponsor willing to kick down $20k.

I think the situation on the Con really has been fixed, it's really clean these days, and most people out there know the issues at hand and are being responsible. There will always be the asshats, but I think there are far fewer now than before. You are correct though, the ball is already rolling.

Rally racing is awesome, if you could get into it for under 5grand like you can rock-crawling then I'd sell my truck and buy a WRX in a heart-beat.

Agreed about the 'Con. However, the forest is full of SO FREAKIN MANY asshats that you can't take a piss without hitting three of them. I see it in the area's I fish (trash in the river, keeping fish that are too small, keeping too many fish, etc), the areas I hunt (shooting at game from the back of pick ups, huge bonfires during the driest part of the season, etc., and where I wheel (wanton disregard for staying on the trail, driving over habitat and other's property).

I have zero confidence in my fellow man to do the right thing anymore. For proof, please see New Orleans. As far as I know, there is no solution to this behavioral problem other than better education and discipline in our schools. People need to re-learn some of the basic tenets of civilization: respect for your neighbors life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. That includes a respect for humanities shared resources, like the forest and rangelands we all enjoy together.
