I ran the 33's on my XJ with an auto and it pulls strong. I would go with the 4.56's if you plan on ever going bigger with the tires. Good luck though. JOE>
I've known two people who ran the AX15 with 33's and 4.10s, and both regret not going 4.56.
FWIW, I ran 3.55s with 33's and an AX15. I never used 5th gear, but 4th was awesome on the highway. I eventually calculated that 4th gear and 3.55s is approximately equal to 5th gear and 4.56, so that's what I was gonna do if I had kept those axles.
he said that is enough gear to go to 35's one day. and he adds that if you do, it will be for DDing but offroad a 4:1 would be better than stock 2:72:1. i think.
32's and 4.56s with the ax15 will be awesome power for you

Exactly, thanks for clearing that up. Since you are out East, you shouldn't need the 4:1 t-case gearing, you'll want to be able to spin those tires to get up those mud hills.
yea we dont have too many needs for ultra low gearing but hey it never hurts but its better to have some type of selectable gearing instead of just 4:1
Just to add for future reference if and when you go bigger...i have 5.13's and had 36's now 35's. Good balance of power, crawling, and gas consumption. I avg. 15mpg a tank (250-270m a tank.) That is mostly city too.
FYI 4:1 atlas's have selectable, 4 different settings, 4:1 being like the 4 low you have now, and then standard, and then two mid levels -or one, i cant remember
On a side note: If you want 4:1 gearing and want to keep it factory Jeep equipment and keep it somewhat on a budget...get a NV241 out of a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, I did and love it for the rock trails I do. I got mine for $1,100 on ebay and sold my Np231 with a SYE for $500, so it was a great $600 upgrade.
