Can I fit 33's with 3" lift and cut fenders

I was just stating my experience with 33s. I bumpstopped the front and trimmed 1 1/8'' off of the fronts and I have a 5.5'' Rusty's lift. I only said that because you'd have to bumpstop so much with a smaller lift that you'd limit your flex.

doesnt bumpstopping only really limit up travel, and not down travel?

Bigger tires ARE NOT better! Unless you have the lift. 33's require atleast a 5 1/2'' lift with some fender trimming, plus a SYE. Don't waste your money on tires, buy a lift first!

Tell that to all the guys who have their rigs set up for low COG!

You just opened up a can of worms buddy let the flaming commence!

I thought rule of thumb was pick a tire size, lift / trim / bumpstop as you see fit.

i see all you people running 33s on a 3"...i bought my XJ 2 days ago with a 3in lift and 32 Micky Thompson Baja tires...and this thing rubs like crazy and looks like theres no room to flex.

are you guys running a 33in tire, with a smaller width, my tires are 32x 11.5(rub alot when turning and my back has spacers) and i was thinking of going with a 235/85/16 which comes out to roughly about a 32x9.5...but id really like to stay at 32s ( but im gona get a diff tire as the ones i have are dry rotted to hell ) also im running the 16" cherokee classic rims.

I have a 97 with three inch lift and cutfenders stock gears and I run 31x10.50 on 15x8 soft 8's. The 31's look to damn small in the wells and when it flexes there looks to be enough room in the front the rear looks a little tight any run 33's on three inch lift or should i just go 32's. with the 32's will i see any differance

Cut the fenders and extend your bumpstops and you'll be good. Won't flex like crazy but whatever, just get lockers :)

the guy i bought my xj from was running 35's on the 3.5" lift. i wish i was kidding. i bought it with 33's and trimmed alot more. went to 31's for a while. im going back to 33's soon. trim and youll be fine. bumpstops are good too.

I'm thinkin about lift my xj for fit 33 but I want it good for daily, I don't need flex for hard offroad, any pics of 33 with a 3.5 inch? Thought about the RE superride any suggestion?

i like this method...im going with 235/85r16s BFG A/Ts for my tire selection..i should rub while turning anymore, but prob flexing. id get a 15in rim, but i like the look of the classic rims on the jeep now.

im going to start at the bottom and work my way up, so after my tires, ill prob replace the crappy lift that was on the jeep when i bought it

only thing im afraid of is maybe my 9.5in wide tire will be to narrow for driving on such a high vehicle? should i look into running a 15in rim with a certain backspacing and going to 31x10.5 friend of mine is running the rustys suspension lift and tire combo and its working out well for him.
