I wouldn't worry about the igniton, then. Nice thing about Bendix electronics - they're built right. It would take EMP from a nuclear detonation to kill them!

You don't have to get 4.0 injectors - there are more than a few XJ's with replacement Ford 5.0/302 injectors (usually Mustang 19# or 21# jobs) that can be had for about $200 - a full set and two spares! Start at (I think) www.fiveomotorsport.com.

Well 6 new injectors, and another used ecu later...she's running fine again. Thanks to everyone for all of their help.

Well now I have two spare ecu's and nothing to do with them...one of them has a set of fried injector drivers, and the other works, just is not all that pretty looking...so if anyone is interested in either, please feel free to make me an offer.
