Busted again...

1997 and up have a plastic tank and the pump fits in the top of the tank unlike the 1987-1996 with the steel tank where the pump fits in the side.

Don't have a connection here that works at Advanced! DISCOUNT!!!

Got the tank bolted back up today. It has a new fuel pump and a new CPS. It holds pressure and starts properly on the first try...

Those two things took care of most of the problems.

Still has one issue. It doesn't do it all the time. Only about half the time.

If I start the engine, put it in drive and start down the road I get about 100 yards out of my driveway and it'll spit and spudder and lose power for about 3 seconds then smooths out and run great till I turn it off. It may or may not do it again the next time I start it.

It only does it a minute or so after I start it. It never does it after I've been driving for 20 minutes or so. Just short periods of time after I start it...

I'd look for something sending a bad signal that the ECU is able to "ignore" after it enters closed loop. It sounds like when it goes into closed loop, it has a hiccup and then compensates.

Possibly a bad coolant temp or air temp sensor
Possibly a failing heater circuit in the O2 sensor keeping it from warming up quick enough to begin working after a cold start.

just give the jeep to me and that way you wont have any more problems!

What would you suggest? I actually put a really small screw back in the hole with teflon tape, jb weld on top of that and once it dried I put silicone on top of that.

replace the tank..

I will when my patch gives up. Ill probably snag one next time im at the pap.

You don't need to replace the tank. My rear tank on my F350 was leaking from a hole in the bottom. I bought a gas tank repair kit form Orielly's. $10. It's basically fiberglass. It was easy cheesy, nice and easy.

It says you can repair it without draining the tank, however I drained mine and I had a decent hole and it was running out pretty good.

I thought I was the only one having heep issues?

The trail rig has a busted ring gear on the D-30, Its driveable but its not so "cool" with only 2wd and a dummied out front axle.

My 90 is now "down" because of me. When I was replacing my fan controller(which is mounted to the rad support) I was drilling out a pop rivot, slipped with the drill and put a 1/4" hole right through the radiator core which was only 3 years old. I couldn't afford another 3-row so i settled for a single row el-cheapo from Oriellys to get me by. I'm also switching it over to an open system since I had to buy a radiator anyway.

If the Commander goes down I'm breaking out the TREK MTB!

This has been a helluva year, come on 2012.
