So, I live in Madison, WI. The business trip is near Gardner, MA

2nd week of Feb.

Looks like mostly Interstate all the way there, so I'm thinking of doing a long haul and actually seeing some scenery.

Any seasonal issues, or are the roads pretty reliable?

About the same.
The issue on the XJ is Camber related. No biggy. The LJ gets better mileage - and the radio works. Both plus items for a long trip :)

Was kind of worried about the lake affect stuff along the way. Was hoping to find out if anyone living along the route has had issues (OH, NY, MA).
I heard that NY is one long toll road.

do you have a planned route yet? theres a few of us in the area

Interesting.

My work would insist I fly. I had a potential emergency in San Francisco awhile back and got a big fat no to driving up there.

Speaking of I need to fly soon, tough being the only person supporting a nation-wide company.

seasonal issues? HA! what do you think we have, big mountains and shit? have fun driving through PA end to end... its one of the most boring drives on the planet, and i've driven through oklahoma. once you enter the roads of the NE prepare yourself... if you've never driven around here plan make do at least 10 over the limit or face death. and make sure you dont have any DW or bumpsteer in whatever you drive because the roads here can and will find every loose bolt in your front end and attempt to rattle it out.

if i was you, would i do it? hell yea.

Before I escaped from Chicago's western 'burbs, I drove out to Sanford, ME for some contract work. If Lake Erie & Lake Ontario have frozen over, expect less lake effect snow to deal with. Otherwise, I'd just expect a long winter drive.

Drop me a PM when you're in the area. I'm maybe 40min south of there, and probably a dozen members are along your route through western and central mass.

Well... I was going to drive.

Now it appears they want control of everything including how I get there.

Don't quite understand it, I'm not on the Clock when I travel, so who would care how I get to school, just as long as I get there. :dunno:

Liability most likely. They've seen your cars and are afraid that you'll kill somebody and they'll get sued.

Or they've seen your cars and decided it's worth the money to make sure you actually get there :laugh3:

They must have been talking to woody... "in my experience, having one XJ/MJ, or two, or four, is no guarantee of having regular use of one..."
