I've got a friend that is building a D-44 front, and consequently needs to get rid of his Dana 30.

Housing is a 1989 NON-disco housing, 4.56, ARB, new brakes, spare set of shafts, and I'll throw in a spare set of hubs. Steering will be included as well.

URF did the gear setup at the beginning of last summer, as well as freshened the ARB seals.

$600 or trade for a D-44 ARB.

Andy,
What u-joints are in it the 297 or 260's? Is everything complete installed like the ARB, axle shafts, disc brakes, hubs etc. If so I'm very interested and live in Citrus Heights. I currently have a dana 30 with 4.56 gears and an open diff. I have the 297 jointed axles with a full spare set. If the dana 30 already has the 297 u-joints in it, how much less would if be without the spare shafts/with the spare shafts? With the ARB in the axle would I just need to get the compressor & route the air line to it? Please let me know.
thanks...Troy

The axle is fully assembled. You would need to bolt the axle into your Jeep and run an air line and it would be done. The compressor is not included.

The spare set is definately 260's, not sure on the set that is actually installed. I just emailed the owner and I should get an answer in mere seconds......standby.

edit: Long side is a TJ shaft with welded caps to prevent spitting the cap. Still checking on the installed short side. I don't think the price is any different with or without the spares. They are basically a freebie because they are of no use to the owner. Same with the hubs from me.

An ARB compressor just became available for an extra $100, works fine, no leaks.

That's cool about the spare shafts & hubs. You can never have to many when your on the trail & need some.

Sounds good, I'd like that compressor with the complete dana 30. :)

You wouldn't happen to have the arb airline that connects to the compressor & the axle would you? This would make it complete you know. :)

I can dig up some blue line, you'd need a switch. I'd recommend a non-electronic one, in other words a manual air switch where you actually run the blue line into your cab, through the air switch and then to the diff.

Very failure proof.

Sounds good, thanks Andy. Would your friend take $600 for the axle, spares, compressor, etc? Please let me know. I can then use my cc and charge that amount to it for his dana 44 arb.

So basically, you want to buy him a 44 ARB in exchange for the axle, spares and compressor, right?

I'll be seeing him very shortly, ask him based on the above scenario, and get back to you later tonight.

I'd give him $600 towards an arb using my cc. You or your friend might know of a place that sells arb's cheap because I haven't ever bought one. 4 wheel wholesalers sell it for $697 & Central 4 wheel for like $730 I believe. Please let me know. I was thinking of putting a lock-rite in my dana 30 already because I have 297 u-joints & 4.56 gears already, but the arb would definately be better. Would your friend be installing the arb at home or is he having it done?

I am in a great need for this axle and have cash and can do the deal ASAP. Have him or you could give me a call so we can work out details. (209) 815-4827. Where does this need to be picked up again? I need something this week, Thanks!!

Thanks Andy for getting the word out.

It is my axle Crash has listed for sale. Both U-joints measure 1 & 3/16". That should make them the 297. I am waiting for a quote on an ARB and then I will get back to you Troy (steinjeep) 600.00 is a firm price. The ARB compressor comes with one solenoid for $100.00 custom mounting bracket if you want it. You would need to buy the wiring kit to complete the install. ARB has a wiring kit with the switches and instructions don't know the price. I bought the ARB compressor used and the wiring was a nightmare (full of splices and no instructions).
Maximus I like your direct aproach, cash is good. I'm in Applegate but drive to Sac everyday. I'll keep you posted.

This is a complete ready to bolt in axle. Everything is attached to it. The tie rod has a nice bow to it but can be straightened and I have a heavy duty spare and a stock spare somebody better bring a truck. I also have old rotors need to be turned. Misc. other stuff.

Thanks,
Sean

Sean,

What kind of heavy duty tie rod do you have? Did you buy it made or fab 1 up? What spare stuff is included with the axle? I live in Citrus Heights and can come pick it up.
