broken side mirror glass.

How do you remove a manual side mirror glass from a 94( early body). Mine broke due to me trying to remove a chunck of ice that formed.
Push comes to shove I'll replace the whole housing with a spare, but its 7 hours away.

I have always just replaced the whole mirror. Not saying the glass cant be popped out but have never tried and not sure where you can find just the mirror part. Also its unlikely that you will be able to unclip the mirror if there are clips behind it holding it on without breaking them.

Twice I've had the old style, with the mechanical adjuster, apart. And managed to get it back together again with the help of some epoxy glue. I've been spared having to do it with the electric mirrors so far.

Then I got smart and smeared up the back of replacement mirror glass with silicon and just glued it on top of what was left of the broken mirror.

Finding just the mirror glass may be difficult, it was for me, but the last time I did it was definitely the easiest and cheapest, around $20. Rockauto has the glass.

If you can do it the easy way, apply the silicon sparingly, a little goes a long ways.

I need something to get me through a few weeks till I get home to my spare housing. Think the silicon trick might work.
