So I was taking the trash out to the curb and walked by my XJ and seen that one of the front Lug nuts was just laying on the ground, broken stud sticking out of it. So what the hell? Did someone try to rob me last night and broke a lug trying to get it off? None of the others are messed with, and I have locks on all 4 wheels.
I mean what are the odds that it was already broken and it just fell off last night? The Jeep has been parked since about 5pm on Sunday.

What wheels do you have? Given the amount of theft I've heard of in that area recently, I'd guess someone trying to jack your wheels. Especially since it dropped right next to your rig.

Was the actual locking lug the one that was broke? Or one of the normal lug nuts? If it was a normal lug it shouldnt have broke coming off, unless it was cross threaded going on.

Was the end of the stud shiny or rusty. If its rusty then it was already broken and the weather probably caused the final blow. Water in the break froze, etc etc.

Still, with all the crap going on in the Denver area lately I'd go ahead and pull the battery out, chain it to the driveway, and wire up some C4.

Double up on the C4...and put a bear trap on the gas pedal.

There is a bit of rust, so I am guessing it cracked a while back... (thanks 4wheelparts) But how crazy is it that it just fell off in the driveway at the house!

I was thinking about 50 Amps of 220V wired body would do the trick!
