Broken Axle/Differentials

Afghanistan sucks

Believe it or not the guy holding the camera has been in the Marines for almost 2 years now, and I just got back from Afghanistan myself. Jeeps still broke, but hopes are high. Hope everyone had a good year.

So quick story. I let my brother live with me 'cause everyone kicked him out... he's 23, probably not the best idea but I love him. He's trying to get in the Marine Corp and he's been waiting on waivers for 6+ months. So back to my post, in the time he's been house sitting for me he was allowed to use the jeep I'd been working on to get around if NEED be. Then I find out out this happened...

This being one of various videos, I will add some pictures soon. Needless to say my freakin' front and rear diff's are bent and front axle broke. Even my bump stop plates on the rear leaf springs bent... let alone what else I haven't found because I'm in the middle of remodeling the house.
I'm trying to decide what to do as my funds are temporarily limited while remodeling and I'd love some good advice if anyone is willing. I also live in Bremerton, Wa so if anyone knows good places near here to find some junk I could use from a yard that'd be great also.

I hope if nothing else some of you get a good "WTF!" outta this and a chuckle. I kicked the idiot out so now it's fix it time. Thanks a ton.

I'd have to agree with everyone else, that is bullshit. I would give him a swift kick in the ass. That XJ might be cashed though man, a unibody would not like that.

I'm curious who Darwin's little buddy is with the video camera? What a dork....a 4000 pound rig aimed right at him......:hang:

That Kid and the word Marine do not go into the same sentence.

Brother and cameraman are idiots. My Corps doesn't need morons like that disgracing 233 years of honor and tradition. Fucking idiots.

Word, I agree. I just did an OEF tour with a guard unit (Navy Sub service myself) and there are alot of morons in critical places in the Army. It sucked and I hope not repeat it, but it was awesome seeing Marines were they shine. 8 years in the Navy and the first guy I meet from my hometown is in Afghanistan and a Marine.. crazy world.

Sorry if this offends you but your brother and his friends are fuckwads. He obviously doesn't give two shits about you or your stuff or he would be respectful. I'm sure this isn't the only thing he's done just the only you've found out about so far. Boot him out and make him grow up.

Ha, that's why all my in-laws live in Bremerton area and I live in SD area. :)

My kids thought it was the coolest thing, I think they want me to go try. I couldn't stop laughing, that sucks I would have slapped the shit out of him.

i would have taking a bat to his head if he was my brother you must be a really calm person if he is still alive

Right on, I hear ya!

89-92 at PSNS Pier C or dry dock. Too much rain for me. He reminds me of my wife's brother, I never let him near my stuff. Must be something in the water that makes them become dumb ****.

If you want to do that with YOUR OWN stuff, that's one thing - to do it with someone else's property is inexcusable.

X2!
I don't think that anyone can word that irresponsible act any better. Laughter and having fun, when a participant's rig, is being trashed is one thing! Trashing a friend's or brother's rig is something different, when they are not there, to give permission.

If, the camera man is a current or prior service Marine then, I am deeply ashamed and embarrassed by his actions and must apologize for them. Those actions were not taught to him by his branch of service!

thank god my brother doesn't like driving my XJ! sorry to hear that bro! Also thanks for serving! :patriot:

In all reality your right Mark, it is a shame. As mentioned in a previous post, I wouldn't even send him down to the any recruiter. Because that boils down jeporadizing the lives of many by allowing a careless, irresonpible individual to join any service. Good luck with getting your heep straigthen out.

New rear axle finally!

Picked up an XJ Dana 44 with Superior axles, a Detroit locker and 4.88 gears for $1100. Now the front... x.X
