BOTD: What beer are you drinking today?

beer isn't for cheap drunk, that's what whiskey and rum are for...

... though I do very much like the taste of jim beam, jack daniels, georgia moon, and a few other whiskeys.

agreed, but i have a bad track record when i drink hard stuff :spin1:. so now i stick with cheap brewskis, no shame.

this is bad...fridge is full of beer and I'm out of whiskey. dammit.

I'm giving up beer, at least for a week to start out with, to help with losing weight. I figure the way it is i have between 500 and 1300 calories a night due to beer, and it's all before bedtime. If i cna cut that out, along with the diet change and workouts I'm doing, i should be able to shed some pounds pretty fast. However, if it was up to me, I'd have a cold 12 pack of Lone Star next to me right now.

I'm in the same boat... except lately my brother and friends got back from college so I have been bar hopping around Plymouth at least a few times per week.

I was drinking Lone Star earlier though. I could go for another right about now. I do need to cut back on the beer but for now I figure that before I was drinking beer and not working out. Now I am working out and still drinking beer. So that's at least a bit better, right..? No real need to cut beer out of the diet? :D

I cut mine back to the weekends. Well, mostly.

It was actually pretty motivating. I knew the better I ate through the week, the more beer I could reward myself on the weekend.

Dropped 30# in three months, and 18mos later I'm still down 25.

Yay me.

Does anybody else have a Cheeseburger in Paradise local?

Locations: Newark, DE; Fort Myers and Miramar Beach, FL; Atlanta, GA; Des Plaines, Downers Grove, and Algonquin, IL; Evansville, Indianapolis, Bloomington, Terre Haute, and Fishers, IN; Kansas City, KS; Pasadena and California, MD; Sterling Heights, MI; Omaha, NE; Secaucus, Iselin, and Wayne, NJ; Middletown, NY; Canton, Cincinnati, Columbus, and Hilliard, OH; Langhorne and Exton, PA; Myrtle Beach, SC; Fredericksburg, Woodbridge, Newport News, Virginia Beach, and Charlottesville, VA; and Madison, WI.

Their house ale is my designated BOTD every Friday.

It was originally called "Island Ale," but apparently there was another microbrew with that name already, so they renamed it "Paradise Beach Ale."

Very bad name, very good beer...

Anyway, it's an amber ale from Leinenkugel (who I like anyway) and it's just a notch or two above their regular AA (heehee.)

I honestly look forward to it all week. If you have the chance, try it...

Robert

Dude, at $10 a bottle Dogfish 120 is just crazy expensive. I do have 4 bottles that were given to me for my Birthday last year that are about ready to open.

BTW to keep on Topic, We were drinking Sapporo on Friday at the Grill and La Fin Du Monde over the weekend.

Split a six of Christian Moerlein's OTR Ale with my dad for father's day. He likes the local brewers.

Technically a pale ale, but it had enough flavor that I really liked it...

after last weekend I am not sure I can really disagree, though there was an awful lot of other stuff along with the hard stuff.

Purple Haze, Blue Moon (in cans, wtf?), Sam Adams Cream Stout, and Wachusett Blueberry... among others. Others will not be named.

A homebrew Kolsch this evening (also have an American brown ale, and a Fat Tire clone on tap.)

Yesterday while cleaning out the garage, a few cans of Busch Light I found in my cooler after last weekends Wisconsin ATVing trip. Actually didn't taste half bad, in a frosted Moab Brewery glass

Tonight, a pint of my homebrewed Belgian Wit with dinner, currently trying to make a little headspace in my keg of Houblonmonstre, just so it will carbonate of course...
