Well, not totally botched, but partially....

I am painting my AJ's Sliders with Krylon black paint. At one point, there was a drip that got on the slider and I made the mistake of trying to wipe it off. It ended up making a smudge/smear, and now that area is not really smooth.

Unfortunately, the part (about 3 inches long) is on the top front drivers side, where I will see it every time I get into the truck. Anywhere else I wouldn't care.

SO..... How can I fix this?

That is kind of what I thought...procedure wise....I guess a fine grit should do it....

Regarding letting it be...I did think of that, but then it would look bad at the mall! :anon:

Seriously, I just like to do things right and have a nice product to put on the Jeep...so I can go out and beat on it!

Thanks!

if you dont want to wait for it to dry then just put some gasoline on a paper towel and wipe that part off. then spray again. works every time for me.

If you use the gasoline method, make sure it all evaporates before you respray.

I would just sand it down with some fine sandpaper and respray like Scott said.

put some grip tape over it, the finest grit you can get. the coarse stuff will rip the back of your calves open when you get out of the jeep.

She's done and looking pretty.

Thank y'all.

Time for install tonight!

I gave that some thought when I did sliders. As much abuse as they take, I decided to use a foam roller and semi-gloss rustolium. it gave a slightly textured surface that looks OK, and touch-up doesn't involve masking off the doors.

I like the grip tape idea but i usually go with the roll it and beat the hell out of it method. The black on my rig is spray on ryno liner and it looked good until the first run haha
