boggers or boogers

Cant believe I am asking this...

I need new tires. i came across a deal for four 33" boggers. I dont know why i am even considering them. But i need tires. I have TSLs right now, and really hate them. Out of round and cupped really badly. I can get ahold of two 35" new MTRs and could buy two more just as easily. But with 4.56 and a 30. I think reliabilty could be comprimised. I will only see road to and from the trail. No regular street use.

Would boggers work for trails like Swamp, Rubicon, etc? or they just ganna booger me up like these TSLs?

Oh and I didnt want to put this in tech cuz east coast boys would clog it up with "oh they are awsome"

EDIT: Yes its locked. And yes I know how freaking amazing the MTRS work. Seen them do way to many crazy things not to like them. But I dont want to buy 4 new 33"mtrs. I think 35s will push the 30.

Boggers really suck. I mean really, really suck in the rocks.

They climb well if you are going in a straight lineup a straight hill. No lateral traction whatsoever.

If you're not locked in the front, you'd be OK with the 35's. Put the worn out ones in front where they'll get the least traction.

You will be much happier with the 35" mtrs and 4.56 gears than you will with 33" boggers. The MTR is an awesome tire and will notice that just about everyone here out West has them. Look at the BOTW crew Andy & Jes have 35's, Richard has 37" MTRs and so on. I can choose between 35's and 37's MTRS for my XJ now and would not consider another tire. I'd pass on the Boggers, there is a reason you can get them cheap. They don't do that good on slick smooth Cali rocks where the claw surface actually acts like a drag racing slick. They do however have huge lugs and then can claw, but you need to air them down to next to nothing and without beadlocks forget it. You will need to get them down to 3-5 psi to get the grip you need and without beadlocks, you will lose a bead alot. What can you get them for and what shape are they in?

I highly suggest getting MTRS. I had a guy that I traded my YJ for his CJ and he wanted to trade a set of 37x12.50x17 BFG Crawlers in good shape for my 5 37x12.50x15 MTRs on beadlocks and I told him no way. The BFG Crawlers are $350 or so a tire and the MTRS are just under $200, but the Crawlers wear out so fast, whereas the MTR if you rotate them every 7K or so will last a long time and they are super quite on the road. Very nice tire. Just my $.02, sorry for the long post. :laugh3:

Booger, but you already knew that. You'll be better off finding a cheap set of all terrains than boggers.
