ill be starting my boatsides tomorrow afternoon, if anyone is rollin around knoxville they are more than welcome to stop by, just pm me for directions and a phone no. probably goin out on town sat nite since its my birthday weekend too ;)

well now the project hinges on whether my hunk-o-junk starts tomorrow, i think the wire from the relay to the starter has gone bad.... we'll see if i cant get it started i guess that blows the project

hunk o junk doesnt start.... hot jumped the starter and got nothing.... put a battery in it and looks like im putting a started in it too

Give the starter a good whack with a hammer thats been working for me lately. Happy B-day man, I have to work on a project today or else I would come by and get in your way.

the overhang on the bottom will get covered up when i skin it...
.120 wall 2x2 should be hella stronger than the foam cups that amc originally made the rockers out of

sadly the passenger b pillar was too mangled to salvage so i ended up cutting it out, the plan is later to run the tube in its place and bend up and skin some tube doors to keep the draft out.... should be fun

Doug, why don't we go to PAP and cut out a new B-Pillar to swap in? I REALLY think you should try to keep stock style doors. That would be hella sweet! I bet we could lay a 4x4 post over the roof and hit it with a sledge a few times to knock the roof back down.

Oh, by the way, you left you welding helmet down here, and Ive got the matching explorer wheel for you too. You wanna wait til the flog to get them or do you wanna meet up before then?

yeah ill wait till the flog... im borrowing joes welder and helmet so its all good, i just wish a had mr hobart to weld with, this welder acts weird almost like it cant get a good "bite" every time. as a consequence some of my welds are UGLY but they wont break ;)

this is a good idea i may do it at some point, right now ima get the rockers done and worry about the door situation later..... once i cut the rocker out the roof fell straight :D

looks good doug!

i'd say you gained a little side clearance? :dunno:
whenever you get more light, snap a side shot of the whole jeep... then we can get a glimpse of all it's glory :)

Well that's good to know... the roof resisted bending, but the rocker was so fubared that it was just holding up on it. A B-pillar shouldn't be too hard to get back in there I wouldn't think. I like where you placed the 2x2. It is the same height as Tims so you could do like he did and just cut 2" out of the bottom of the doors and then they should go back on...
