Big Red's JV Run

Troy, please do us all a favor and read Richard's post about 20 more times. There are some very good suggestions in there. Live and learn is the way most people live their life. Remember live and learn, please don't just go chalk this thread up as people bashing you for fun. Yeah, it got out of hand, but I think the overall message was sincere. It could not be any clearer what people are asking of you. Practice some restraint, and just calm down. Please do me a favor and read Richard's post each and everytime you sign into NAXJA. Maybe post that as your signature untill your Jeep gets done. Learn from it, and then act accordingly. Believe me, the Sierra Chapter members wish this whole situation would just resolve itself. We are frustrated beyond belief. The solution starts with you listening to the advice given by the very same people you want to go wheeling with. The same people you want to share a campfire with. And the very same people who would help you out on the trail.

Please read Richard's post again. Thanks.

Hi Troy
Iv'e met you a few times and I'm not one to to criticize people, but some of your posts have gotten a little long winded. Take it easy, get some time behind the wheel of you upgraded XJ, Then MOB your sh*t like you didn't pay for it. ;). Learn where the weak points are, learn how it will act on the trails. Remember you have to learn to walk before you can run.
I learned the hard way:exclamati

It was pretty "built" when I bought it but it has gone through alot of changes since and is still going through some. Have U talked to Jason lately Ken? He said he might be moving and I haven't heard from him in a while. He was a nice guy and I bought a good jeep from him and have enjoyed it. Since I got it I have swapped out the axles once, am having Ryan swap in the new full width axles, I changed the front susp a bit, herculined the interior, Durabak the exterior, added Lebaron hood vents, added 5 sets of rock lights, add a rear bumper and tire carrier, and some other odds and ends. I bought the jeep from Jason mainly because it was set up nice and had some big $ parts on it. I just want to wheel and enjoy wrenching a bit too, but where I live and with the limited amount of tools I own, I can only do bolt on stuff. I'm not ashamed of it, Ryan is building mine right now to be a beast. :laugh3:

You still don't get it do you. The proper respone to Stoney's post should have been: "Haha, you got me there. I have done quite a bit to is since I bought it though." Now the reason for this is that everybody knows exactly what you did to your junk because you have posted it 25 times already.
Please, read Richard's post again.

Damn, no reply from Troy? Maybe he started a 12 step program like Capt. Nemo suggested.

Anyway to make this TTT worthwhile. You only got a little over 3 months to finish up and get your rig saweeeet!: http://www.cal4wheel.com/highdesertroundup/index.html

-Mike

There's not much more to say on this topic, I'll go when/if I'm invited with the small NAXJA group, if there is a scheduled run open to all, and/or the TTT event. Thanks for the link Mike. My rig should be sweet in a month. I just have to talk my wife into us going, out 6th yr anniversary is 5/29. I talked her into it last year and did the Lost Coast trip in my 98' zj dd and blew my tranny after getting stuck up to my windows in the creek. :laugh3: I still had a good time, just wish I didn't get stuck, brought some tools, and flushed my tranny right away. That was a painful lesson. Live and learn. :)

Hey Mike, I'ld like to know a little more about that TTT event. Sounds interesting.

Hey Troy, I heard you had some tranny problems with your GC once. How'd that happen?

Speaking of GCs, my wife has a 94 with a 4.0, so I was changing the oil. Simple job, no worries and got me out of the house for a while. She kept asking me if I knew what i was doing and I was like, if I can lift, lower, swap engines and entire drive trains, do gears, and bla bla bla, I think I can change the darn OIL! Of course the filter wrench taps the oil pressure sending unit andthe unit falls apart. 30 bucks later I am still eating crow. Stupid plastic junk!

Sorry about the Hyjack Troy.

Yeah, those Grand Cherokees have issues, they just aren't built like XJs. :laugh3:
