Big Red's JV Run

Andy, can I make it on all-terrain 33s? I cant afford spares, is that ok too? I hear you can stack rocks and get through anything. What you think?

Well looks like Lincoln wants to run JV in July..So I thought I'd bring this to the top for him. ;) Anybody else up for it?

Yeh, I'm up for it, but around August 13th sounds better. Would it be warm enough to go without heat by then? I just put in my welded locker so I should be ready.

Scrappy: You should be fine on AT 33's. You can stack rocks if you need, just remember to unstack them when you are done. You might want to bring a friend to help you out.

Lincoln: August 13 should still be decent weather out in JV. Did you weld both the front and rear? If you did both, you should be good for something like Outer Limits.

Just unlock a hub for those real tight turns. Or if it's a D30 without hubs, just pull a shaft, make your turn, and put the shaft back in. I hear pulling the shafts on a 30 is much easier than on a 44.

Mines a 30 (30 breaks right?) but I set the disconnect up to disengage with a screw driver for the tight stuff. I've found though if I stop, turn the wheel, and slam the gas to the floor it works just as good. I also put some extra welds on the axle yokes to gain strength. I'm working on an axle eliminator though.

I'd really like to go but I haven't found a special camping axle yet, so I might have to stay in a hotel.

:laugh3: I'd just like to thank you Sierra guys for taking such good care of a former potential MWC member.

Do you accept returns?

Well see, there's the catch. He's former potential in that the MWC didn't exist yet when he relocated to Sierra territory as far as I can tell. So technically we can't accept the returned goods, sorry. Would you like to speak to our complaint department?

I'll come to visit you in August Mark, I'll be at parents house in Illinois. 2-3 weeks a year are plenty for me visiting the Midwest thank you very much. Plus I like it too much here in the Sierra Chapter. :laugh3:

Those "Camper Specials" are sure hard find. Good luck with your search, until then you might want to get AAA to get a good discount on your hotel stay. :laugh3:

That sounds cool. Is it anything like JV?

I dunno about it being like JV, but last time I was there I had to winch myself sideways to capture my broken D35 c-clip axle................. :wierd:

I was told you could just flip it over and it would stay in fine. :dunno:

Nah, the trick there is to straighten the wheels and go forward a foot, isn't it Matt? ;)

What's the trick to catching a spare tire?
